    yeah

brian is a regular poster on this site hecalls himelf bbedford, and yes hes an icon,he had the most magnificent naturall fitness, and i did used to watch him play becauise ive suppoeted qpr since the 1959 60 season, but i dont rember bedford being a really skillfull player ,he used to miss many open goals, but it was his incredible athleticsm that made him look so in a class of his own,ive known bedford get ten stitches in his head in the first half but come back in the second half, and still score with the other side of his head

his most lethal part about him was not his feet, but his incredible heading ability i bet half his goals came from his airial supremacy and tenacity because you could kick brian all day long and he would still keep comming back for more

    brian bedford hard as nails
he always scores he never fails
some players try to be flash, get drunk and like to bet
not bedford he just makes sure the ball goes in the net

    simplicisty was his incredible gift
but scoring goals certainly gave him a lift
how much would he be worth today in the biggest towns
well ten million and two hundred thousand pounds

I first heard of him was before he joined QPR from Bournemouth. He scored the winner against Man.Utd in the FA cup.

I also went to Dean Court on the QPR coach to see Bournemoth beat us and Bedford scored the first goal against us for which I won a tenner as I had drawn him in a little bet on the coach before the game,so I didn't come away from that match entirely disappointed.

        do

do you agree with my description of his playing career,ie half his goals being scored with his head,or did it just seem like that, would it have ben 20 per cent of his goals possibly

I reckon about 40% of his goals were headers,he was up there with Sir Les,but thats where the similarity ends.Remember BB spent most of his time in the old 3rd Div and Sir Les plied his trade at the top level and for his country.

                in my years

in my ears of supporting ive seen so many famous games but i missed that st andrews game,i did go to the wolves game ,when i look back on those years we never had a decent center half,my god bobby keetch, ian watson, tony hazell, ron hunt................absolute rubbish ..................but we were such an attacking force teams just couldnt get the ball out of there own side of the pitch..................in bedfords time i would say the king of loftus road was mark lazarus, noy only was he a brilliant player he was a tough as ails as well and could punch a full back when the ref wasnt looking and just look so inocent,as the loftus road faithfull said nothing, those were the danys,i was so young but can still remember the sound of ROASTED PEANUTS RING OUT AS THE SELLER WENT ROUND THE TERRACES,EXITEDLY WE WOULD UN RAVEL THE PAPER BAG TO EAT OUR NUTS,IT WAS SUCH A TREAT,THEN OUTSIDE
ANOTHER SHOUT OF ROASTED CHESTNUTS WOULD RING OUT................
THOSES WERE THE DAYS WHEN MY REAL DAD WAS STILL ALIVE AND WE WOULD GO TO THE GENERAL SMUTS FOR A LEMONADE AND CRISPS FOR ME
AND A BEER FOR HIM............................you rs
