    Chris Commons - Derby

Out of contract in summer, 9 goals from left midfield.
Always plays well against us and cracking left foot.

Why not bid 1 mil now, sign him up as he could make the step up too if we are promoted..

On that I see Andy Reid playing and scored a great goal for Sheff Utd..
Another decent international, prem class player available..

2 good signings in my mind

Lets sort out the striker issue first then maybe Commons, but agree with Morris - not Reid. Our inability to score goals is more important than another midfield journeyman.
22nd February away v Charlton is the 40th Anniversary of my support of QPR and my first game. Away v Chelsea 3-3 23rd Feb 1974. 40 years of pure magic!!

Good player. Who would you start him in front of? Drop Mackie?

Well it seems like Ephraim will play 20+ games this season, so Id rather Commons play those 20 than Ephraim.

Mackie down middle sometimes, Commons centre park etc.

On current form, yes. But we wouldn't get Kris Commons untill January and a lot can happen in that time.

Mackies versatility and workrate make him a starter for me, even when hes not scoring he works his nuts off. Commons would play games and add quality to set pieces to.

Like Jeffro I like Commons and think he is much better than Ephraim. Also no harm in putting a bit of pressure on Mackie. However, presumably this is the position that we hope to fill with the Norwegian whose very long name I can't remember.

Might get a preview of him tomorrow night.
Says he plays for QPR, apparently?!

mackies form hasnt dropped, he just scored far to many goals than hes actually capable of at the start of the season, hence people expecting him to do it every game now. hes a proper team player and grafter, would be really hard to ever imagine dropping him.

Good spot Goddard. Typical he is even been listed as QPR player and there hasn't been a peep out of the club about him.

Is work rate enough to keep a place in a team though? IF we were to buy another striker I would have thought it would be him most likely looking over his shoulder. As we are very unlikely to buy another striker, however, he is probably safe.
