Every team has their good runs, as Cardiff showed with their 5 straight wins, but if you look at the last 3 games we would be above Cardiff but below Swansea, so who knows what will happen next and who will have the next good run.

It shows the difference, as going by the last 4 games it would be Leeds top with Leicester 2nd.

Derby,Cardiff and rangers are the only sides in top eight to have played 5 away. Table is misleading. We are in excellent form.

Not great reading but as a few posters have stated we have come through a run of difficult games.

In my opinion unbeaten after 17 games far outweighs the expectations most of us had at the start of the season and I think Warnock has done a fantastic job with a group of players that are not as expensive or as good as the press would have you believe.

I think what is important now is that we keep pushing and keep our noses ahead of Swansea until the January transfer window. I think we need a couple of players in, particularly a striker. If we can add a goal scorer to the squad I think we'll be celebrating in May.

OK it doesn't read like potential promotion candidates but lets face it, we are 2nd, we are unbeaten, we aren't playing the sort of football we were at the start but we have had some very difficult games of late. If this is our poor form moment then I'm happy. I genuinely feel we will come good again as far as results go, the others who have caught us up will suffer poor periods of form and results.

A good solid win this Saturday will hopefully give us back the confidence, so lets all get behind the lads Saturday and blow PNE away and show the others we mean business.

                  I'd rather be 8th than 24th.

If this is a bad run then we don't have a lot to worry about. This is a team with many of its options unavailable Buzsaky, Helguson, Orr, Connolly (on Saturday), Derry will now be suspended, Ramage is out for the season. All of whom would probably be in the 18. Instead we have the likes of Andrade, Clarke, Borrowdale and not match fit Rowlands or Hall to call on. Once the players return then judge us on how good/bad we are. But considering we have had injuries we aren't doing to bad IMO.

Echo all of that SirPie. We have had some tough games of late, decisions don't seem to be going our way and the injuries/suspensios have hit us quite hard. But we still remain unbeaten after 17 games in the league where everyone beats everyone - well 17 other teams didn't beat us and we really could have won all bar a couple of the drawn games too.
I think that is all positive - and more positive even than that is the next little fact -
We now have 2 home games - if we win them both we will be back on top of the league - FACT

While we're on the "stats" subject... here's a post taken from dot.org.
Yeah, it's just stats, but it makes you think.

Comparison of Same Fixtures as Last Season

So far this season we have played 17 games, have 35 points and have scored 30 and let in 7.
Based on the same games against the teams we have played so far, with the following substitutions based on promotion/relegation positions: (Burnley/Newcastle, Hull/West Brom, Blackpool/Pompey, Norwich/Sheff Wed, Leeds/Plymouth, Millwall/Peterboro), we would now have had 17 points, scored 22 and let in an amazing 35 goals!.

So we are currently 18 points better off with a swing of 36 goals on the goal difference! The only game that we did not do as well against this season so far is Derby away.

Massive improvement, in a really short space of time.
Yes, we all want more... but it's been brilliant the way we've turned things around so quickly.

Okay Goddard is correct, they are only stats - but they make a very telling case for the massive improvement. I think Saturday's draw at Forest gives a fair indication of just how much more equipped we are this time round.

SPOT ON MATE. Really can't believe some people's take on this. If this is to be our rocky patch then I'll take it. I watched us pretty much every game this season baring the Swansea game due to work and Millwall at home as I won a 84 player golf competition which meant I had to stay around for the presentation do - what a **** I know! There really isn't any other side in our division who pose the same threat that we do that I have seen. Portsmouth and Derby have been the two sides I think posed the most but still nothing worth writing home about.

Everyone keeps talking about when we lose but has anyone actually thought what if we do an Arsenal and go undefeated?
