  • Robert Pires interseted in QPR/Cardiff

Arsenal legend Robert Pires has issued a come-and-get-me plea to Championship leaders QPR and Cardiff.
And the France winger, a free agent since released by Villarreal in summer, revealed he will quit football if he has not found a new club by next February.
Pires, who has been training with Arsenal, also said Arsene Wenger has closed the door on a return to the Gunners as they have sufficient midfielders. The 37-year-old won two Premier League titles, three FA Cup and the 2002 Footballer of the Year prize during his six-year stay in North London.
'I am open to all offers, and if there is an opportunity with a good team in the Championship that is pushing for promotion then why not?'

I say we do not want another Edgare Davids failure in the Championship.

Appeared in the Daily Mail this morning. Touted about in The Football League Paper last month. No movement in all that time so assume it's a non-runner.

He'd be rubbish through cold and dark winter months. He'd be okay in August or May though.

We want bright, young , hungry players of course, but look back a few years and an older Paul Merson took Portsmouth up almost single handedly. If his wage requests are not too great then it may be progressive move for us.

He's 37 now. Nuff said. Look what happened to Davids.
