  • Just to confirm first person to confirm the news was Paul Warbuton in his article

    15th October 2010 http://www.ealinggazette.co.uk/sport...4767-27479152/

Surprised so many didn't play to much credence to it.

          • Sorry QBP - this doesn't make sense. I am not sure what point either of these articles is meant to make. Is it that Flavio will be selling? (if so, the first of these says the exact opposite of that (it says he will hold on) and the second article is a re-hash which ends with a club disclaimer (from all the Board saying all of the foregoing isn;t true so was pointless and poor journalism really!). If it is meant to show how much the Board members own it doesn't show that either. The first (obviously wrongly) says Flav owns 70%, the other says the joint shareholding is 70%. So can't see how this helps.

So what did you mean? Pse keep it simple - my head is starting to hurt!

In any case, any news in these papers will be inspired to some purpose. The Board does not leak be accident. It is either made up or meant to have some impact on public opinion or, more likely, share price. I wouldn't believe any of it.

            • Agree with you stan.

I dont rate warburton anyway, but that artical says the opposite to what this thread is all about, ie Bernie buying flaves shares.

So pete what have us that are possibly not as astute as yourself missed??????

              • It clearly states they own 70% between them, which is point I was trying to make.

ANyone wishing to pay to go on Companies House can see who owns what and its been there for a good few weeks, so doubt it would need an offcial announcment on Monday.

                • we have a decent set of players led by a good manger but hampered by a set of egotistical owners seemingly set on alienating the fan base

                  • Before slitting my wrists in total despair, I might just wait and see what announcements, if any, are made and attempt to evaluate accordingly.

Personally, I do not think there appears to be any sign of unrest anywhere, either on, or off the pitch.

We are unbeaten, top of the league, playing OK but not to our potential, appear to have a great team spirit and are doing far better than those who doubted us ever thought we would.

Not at all concerned by who owns what as we cannot change it, even if we wanted to. As long as the manager is managing, the players are playing and the owners are funding it all, happy days. Far too many people getting their knickers in a twist over a "non-story" as usual.

I shall get ready to apologise on Monday evening.

                    • I really cannot see what all the fuss is about - nothing has changed if the reports are to taken as true.

The club is owned by Briatore - Ecclestone and Mittal.

On Monday, if true, Briatore is going to sell shares to Ecclestone. this may be all or part of his holding.

Amit has been trying to broker a deal to sell a slice of the club to Kingfisher - this has not been forthcoming - Amit presumably was acting on behalf of the other shareholders as he has little or no shares.

The club is clearly funded , in the main by Briatore as the largest shareholder, who now wants to sell to Ecclestone.

Briatore has lost his F! income and needs to move some of the cost of running the club onto someone else, which given the esteem he is held in at QPR, who could blame him?

                      Business as usual on Tuesday.

Er it doesn't you know. First one says.....

FORMER QPR chairman Flavio Briatore is ready to ditch the sale of his 70 percent stake in the Championship leaders –

                          2nd one says

"Bernie Ecclestone and I have a 70 per cent stake in QPR, and we are top of the table.

                          Like I said.

So these can;t be used as any evidence of anything as they contradict each other. Unless you#d like to explain.

                          • so comments such as..

“QPR? I don't have a real passion for it at all,”

                            and..

“I got into it by accident. I'm a Chelsea fan. I got involved through Flavio Briatore. It's difficult not to buy into his enthusiasm for things. I took some shares, I don't care. It's just something I've done.”

also...regarding possible promotion the the premiership..

“I hope not. That's just even more aggravation.”

none of this pisses anyone else off? clinging to the hope he has somehow been misquoted? or that he didnt really mean it? just having a laugh?
                            lol

hope the chump pulls up in his Chelsea tractor out the front of the ground next week like usual so a few of us can let him know what we really think of him...

Briatore wanted to sell his shares, we all thought it would be Mittal who took them. After talks, it was obvious he is not interested for whatever reason. Bernie Ecclestone stepped in and bought them off him. The combination of Flavio and Bernie mounts to around 70%, just now Bernie holds the majority.

Flavio never goes to games anymore and has far less input, so it made sense to sell his shares to Ecclestone. Its no secret, that Flavio spends far less time in England. People are confused because they thought (we all did) that Mittals were the largest shareholders already. looking back, the official never indicated how much was increased at the time of unrest, but it did the trick because we got Warnock and fans came onside.

Vblockranger, Ecclestone is not everyones cup of tea but his comments should be taken with a pinch of salt. For example he says he comes to 2 games a season, reality is everytime no F1 races he is at all the home games, sitting on a blanket. if he did not want to get promoted, he wouldn't be funding the buys and wages
