I doubt Amit supported QPR before he came to the club and not sure what team Lakesmi Mittal supports?
Bernie Ecclestone is obviously bankrolling the club, accepting Warnock's requests for players and we've signed someone today so he is getting what he wants.
Success for QPR is what concerns me, not the politics.

Pete, come on! We've been lied to so many times now re ownership. Even Warnock was saying how it was great to have Bhatia as our owner. Wont lie, feel a bit let down by the club now.
Can only see it going downhill with the muppet Ecclestone in control-just look at the article posted above. Oh well!

Must admit I am with QBP on this. If it is (as it sounds) a "simple" withdrawal from FB and he sells his shares to Bernie it looks to me more or less a distinction in the power base but with no real difference. Bernie and Flavio are "voting allies" on the Board (bernie seemingly n=bankrolling Flav) so there should be no practical effect. (Though some might welcome Flav cutting all ties I would have thought!).
The things to keep an eye on (if you are a pessimist) it seems to me are these. (a) what does this increase in Bernie's power means in respect of the Mittal's reaction to it (does it take him to a controlling majority or not - no one seems to know - why would they bankroll a project they are a total minority shareholder in) (b) what has happened to the loan on the stadium that we have no defaulted on to the (part) Flavio owned company. No one seems to be proposing we pay that loan as far as I can see so we will potentially have someone owning the ground with no financial interest in the club (again). I appreciate Amit is part owner of the holding company but that will also be a Board decision so whether he could/would stop it is debateable.
What has Lakesmi Mittal done since he has been at the club?
When the club goes through difficulty owners/directors always get the brunt of fans anger, likewise they should get the plaudits when things are going well. which they are.

That I don't know. Only people within the club know that. What I do know however is he, unlike Bernie & Flav has not pubically slagged off the club.
There is a lot of contradictions flying around at the moment
You'll right about Warnocks comments, I suspect he thought it would be a fomality.
We all did.
You cannot force anyone to take over if they don't want to. Definite discussions took place, just they could not find agreement. They all get on, so not really an issue. The Kingfisher guy turned out to be a waste of time for starters

What about Amits comments about wanting to spend big to get top 4? Surely that is a load of rubbish if the Bernie takeover is true.
What I will say is, so long as Bernie supports us financially-allowing us to be a club similar to Fulham, I will be more than happy to take back my thoughts on him. Just can't see it happening though
Am I the only one viewing this in a positive light. If the rumour is true and FB is selling his shares to BE (who is worth a considerable amount) then surely this is a step forward. We finally get rid of Briatore, and in Ecclestone we have a man who has proved to be ruthlessly successful, and givenhis tender age im sure he wont want to wait around too long for that success. Coupled with the fact that on the surface he seems to get along swimmingly with the Mittals, then all in all good times ahead!

Not quite as I heard it. I'd heard that Mallya was lead up the garden path, so far as actully wiping his feet on the rug before it was pulled from under him.
