  • Our Penalty

Looked a certain penalty from where I was right behind the goal but in all my years of watching football I have never seen a player such as Lawrence so adamant in his protests and continue them for so long

He just would not accept the decision and it was no surprise he got a 2nd yellow card

606 debate on the matter says it hit his chest not his hand but we earned that bit of luck after the penalty retake

Its perfectly possible of course that it hit his chest AND arm.

I am genuinely confused by all this. At the time from where I was sitting in the stand to the right of the Rangers fans (I was with a Pompey mate), I did not see the incident. However, since viewing it on telly, its clear. YES, it hit Lawrence on the rib cage, but when it did it was on the up. Something diverted the ball down and unless he is particularly ripped with massive man pecs OR super ribs, nothing other than his arm or his chin could have re-directed the ball downwards.

Can anyone else think of a way that it deflected downwards without hitting his arm?

Great Peno by Tommy by the way; Pompey fans were well upset that he was even playing for us, but as I pointed out to them, that's up to the loan deal they agreed with Rangers, so hard luck...

Steve Cotteril says he has a whole ball print on his side.. I'm not convinced. Looked a pen too me.

Hilarious, wasn't it ? Funniest thing I've seen at a match for a long time.

I can only assume that by revealing his nipples, he was attempting to tell the ref he was a tit.

My gut instinct was a penalty

My thoughts was it was a penalty. Lawrence baring his chest proved nothing, I could see no marks at all and I was in the 3rd row of Q block and this all happened right in font of me.
Opinions are like A******s, everyone has one, but nobody wants to see the other guy's.

Cotterill wants to shut up and stop crying like a baby. Funny how he hasn't mentioned the retaken penalty they had after a perfectly good save from King Kenny ! For what is worth from where i was sitting looked a pen all day long despite Lawrence's protest, which was hilarious !!

He actually did. In his interview he said he saw nothing wrong with it, even more reason for him to shut up & accept it. They got a dodgy decision so did we, simple.

The fact that theyre making a big song and dance because of the ball imprint on his shirt proves absolutely zilch, as it could have bounced against his arm before or after that.

plus the blatent hand balls the ref let go in the first half
Dyslexic so please don't feel the need to correct my spelling mistakes as I really don't give a **** and before you say use spell checker if it is spelt right / wright but not in context spell check is useless

Didn't look a penalty from where I was sat and I had a pretty good view, saw replays this morning and felt the same...

Officials levelled it up IMO after messing up their retake

Pompey appealed for so many hand-balls against our players, many of which were given, even though the ref must have been unsighted.
The one time the ref responded to a handball appeal by our players, Pompey moan about it!!
They should be happy the ref was consistent!!
What goes round, comes round, Portsmouth.

I freezed framed SKY who shows the goals, definitely dived out like an Olympic diver, with hands out and it definitely hit his arm. Pillock should remember to keep his hands down in future.

                              Message to Cotterill

He did let your team mates down and should get a public beating from the other Pompey players for handballing in the 90th minute and having the audacity to show the crowd his man breasts. Should have a got a straight red for that alone
