  • Next time remember before you speak

After Adel's poor performances against B City and Millwall etc, I came on here and said he is quality and we have to bear with him.

Others here wanted him dropped for Smith, Buzz, etc.

The last 2 games have shown what Adel is all about.

Now I am not posting this as a "I told you so" but I hope you have all now seen exactly waht Adel Taarabt brings to this team.

Yes he will have bad games, yes he will not pass and yes he will throw strops, but we have to accept that, as shown Saturday; he is the best player in this league by a country mile and that includes Bellamy.

I really hope next time he has a stinker, the "Drop Adel Brigade" take time to pause and think and look at how silly he has made them all look.

Is Paul MAson Unbanned yet as I would love to see his views, being cheif campaigner to drop Adel after a couple of poor games.

i think people read the adel criticism's wrongly.

saying drop adel does not mean "lets never play him again"

it wasnt two games adel was poor.. if somebody is out of form the team needs to be refreshed. just like smith for ephraim and hulse for helguson(all be it injury forced this).

we have a talented squad. and buz although different would offer something else. remember we was drawing game after game and not looking like winning.

adel's in the top three players for this league. but he has no divine right to play just because of how good he CAN be. he needs to produce on a regular basis, which before you bark off.. doesnt mean win games single handedly..
Soldier: "im on reconnaissance sir.. im looking for our camouflage expert.. have you seen him?"
    Lovejoy: "No?!"
Soldier: "GOD DAMNIT THAT GUYS GOOD!"

      wheres that adel poll?
just to see actually how many people did say drop him, didnt think it was many. i voted take the captaincy off him cos i want derry to wear the band.
oh and this is why polls should ALWAYS be made viewable (i think im the only one who doesithat), then you can actually direct your pro adel venom at real names then jeffro.

            Spot on mate.

I think Jeffro is a good poster but he has let himself down here.

To say no one should question adels form after 4 bad games is odd.

Anyway delighted he had a blinder of sat but lets not take the **** out of our own fans who know adel is quality but want consistancy.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Weare, I think you are missing my point.

I am simply saying that when he has a bad game or 2, people HAVE to take a different view to him rather than say a very average player like Ephraim.

We have to play him through his bad spell and the results are plain for all to see.

Just read the Reading fan's view on him mate, they are creaming about him and said he is far away above anything in this league.. And thats from one game.

You were one who wanted him dropped, I just read your comment on the poll.

Do you agree that carrying on playing him through the bad spell, has now produced a goal of the season contender and offensively single handedly destroying Reading FC and that it would have been a massive managerial error by you had you been in charge?

there was definately a campaign to drop Adel.....don;t recall too many of those making a big point about saying drop him for a game then bring him back?

Flair players have off games, that is because they do far more difficult stuff to a grafter that just clogs people in midfield. Both are important, but one can turn a game in an instance and win games from nothing.

I was always in the Adel support camp, and will be happy to say "I told you so".

In fact I mentioned in a thread after Reading that the Adel haters seemed very quiet.

As I have also said before, a lot of Championship fans do not like flair....they only want graft.

Adel has the talent to play in the Champions League in a year or two. The only other member of our squad with that potential is Faurlin. And fans want to drop such talent!!

It pains me to say it; but I actually agree with Jeffro.
This should be a thread about 'I told you so'

The anti Adel brigade became so annoying, that I started to avoid reading their threads.

The majority of our legends throughout history have had strings of bad games.

I just watched the hi-lights of the Reading game on Player, & watching Adels skills made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck.

The full 90 minutes is available on Reading's Player, so I'm off there now

To be fair, there were some completely bizarre outbursts/ideas spouted during our horrendous loss of form (ie 4 draws).
At the end of the day, most of us are not used to seeing the Rs in the position of hot promotion favourites so we're caught somewhere between trying to believe but also bricking it that the wheels will fall off.
So, it's inevitable that there will be various panicky outburts if we have little blips....we can't all be sage and wise 100% of the time and shouldn't get too down on anyone having a wobble of faith (unless their saying something really bonkers like sack Warnock).

If Adel has a bad game then he is rightly open to critisism as is everybody else in the team.

I agree. But that's not really what we saw....we saw a load of people saying drop him, he is a liability etc.

I think that is a as daft ass saying sack NW if we lose a game or two.
