I personally think you can't support all charaties, so at some point you choose one. Timing may have meant one is more appropriate, but is it really?

Most charaties are worthy in their own way.
Emmerdales Charity Dingle being the exception to that rule

But being serious though i would agree with that, but you tend to go with the charity that is closest to your heart,a relative of a serviceman in afganistan is far more likely to donate to help for heroes than to a charity helping abused labradors who are fed too many prawn cocktail crisps by their owners.

Thats true as the Company I work for supports both Breast Cancer Awareness and Childrens Hospices and all the staff get really involved

Most people I know have a preferred charity that they will quietly support but I still do not understand why the Poppy Appeal could not be highlighted today and the Children in Need one on the weekend of the actual event to coincide with the Preston match

Why can't the club support a local charity , like it used to [hammer cancer], instead of national charaties

Most people have different views regarding charity. I respect the service men and women who are doing a fantastic job in impossible conditions but if I had to give 1 million pound to a charity I would give that money to Cancer research. No chairty is a disgrace and I don't think Beefy ment it in that sense however he does have a point regarding children in Need. They have the BBC so I do think it would be more useful for the club to back less advertised charitys.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

You obviously do not know or care that Remembrance Day is this coming Thursday so surely today's game would have been an ideal opportunity to highlight the Poppy appeal??

The Children in Need event is on the 19th so surely the club could have helped out the next day when we play on the 20th (that's against Preston at Home by the way just to help you out) and if they had done so then I would more than likely donated some change

As I keep telling you,you should really start thinking about posting what you think on matters and not what others spoonfeed you to post on their behalf
the fact that you claim to have been sobber when you made this disgusting post is a real true measure of the man you really are imo.
i sat between my best mate and my brother today my best mate has done two stints in iraq and has just recently returned from afghanistan, he even bought his season ticket before he left and had it sent to my address ready for him when he returned, i can not describe the horrible feeling of looking at his s/t every time i went to the draw to get mine out and contemplating the fact he may never get to use it. so do not ever try to insinuate or insult me by saying that i dont care or know when remembrance day is.
secondly on the other side of me today was my brother who has little 7yr old boy (my nephew) who has been in and out of great ormond street hospital for the last 2 years suffering from a tumour, they had been trying to shrink it because it was such a risky operation to remove it but the treatment didn't work so they removed it surgicaly last week im glad to say he has been doing really well we will know a lot more next week when we get the full results back. those are the real reasons why your post angered me so much and they are also the reasons why i gave generously today to both charities and will continue to do so.

                Both worthwhile causes.
If it's any consolation, Hanwell, my daughter Josie was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour in 1999, which robbed her of her sight. Great Ormond Street saved her life with radiotherapy, no doubt, they were fantastic -- your nephew couldn't be in a better place. Josie is still monitored regularly, now by Uni College hosp. as she is an adult, but she has done really well thanks to GOSH.
And, along the way, CIN have been the suppliers of various things which have made her life more bearable, both at her school and at hospital.

thread going in the wrong direction, rightly or wrongly, but it isn't really about QPR anymore.

Just to add both are very worthy charities and i tend to agree with isleworth that we should of promoted the charity for our troops abroad with rememberance day round the corner.

Just to add, if it's a disgrace that QPR didn't do anything for The Poppy Appeal (although I believe the shirts will have the poppy on for next week's game on remembrance weekend), have a look at what went on at Celtic's game.

bloostained...ffs the cretins can't even get their hatred spelt correctly.

                            Now THAT'S a disgrace.
You're right by the way, we will have poppies on our shirts next week -- but I believe it will be on Tuesday at Portsmouth (nearest game to the 11th).
