  • Warnock's tactics

Warnock has done brilliantly so far turning what is arguably at best a play off squad into a team that has until Saturday sat on top of the division. But Burnley was about the first game when his tactics frustrated me. Why did we have to wait till the 70th minute before we passed a few balls around on the ground? Faurlin and even Derry can pass the ball. Tabs obviously can. Hogan allegedly can, though I can't say I've witnessed it. Smith also has ability. So what was with all those high balls lumped forward for Clarke Carlisle to out-power our feeble and passionless strike force every time? It was obvious to me and all around me that it wasn't working. Yet when towards the end we actually tried to play a bit of football we looked a half decent team. When Holloway played long ball football I understood more because we had a very poor team in those days but now we have some ball players, why aren't we using them? I thought Warno, in bringing in players like Tabs, was appreciating that the game has changed.

Oh, and if he says one more time that it was a cracking match after we failed to win I think I might start going off him a wee bit.

I think he's too locked in on taking off Adel after 75-80 mins. Who knows, he might have got a winner. If we're 3-0 up, fair enough.

and by the way, what is the point of lumping balls forward and still playing hogan who has never knowingly won a header and in any case seemed to have gone into hiding more than osama bin laden.

That was what I thought when I watched us play against Bristol City as well.
                  Where is plan B?
Why did we struggle so much to get Smith when he isent involved

Can't believe imitating a beatbox is a credible profession. Would have loved to have seen his interview with his Careers Officer.

And, for the record, forgive the pun, prefer "She Said" by The Longpigs.
