  • Planning ahead...Norwich away 01 January

Not looking good for those of us who prefer to travel by train:

Staying over. Early bird deal on Prem Inn was £12.50 for a family room. Works out quite well for me. With kids getting out on NY eve is tricky anyway but hotel bars will be cushty with em out with.

That deal is gone now - now £60 I think which aint bad. Think (but having checked) you can get the same £12.50 deal if you stay out at one of their Gt Yarmouth hotels which isn't too far. A decent night out I'd imagine but a taxi to the game in the morning.

We have been really stitched up in the last couple of years with some good away fixtures. Especially the ones like Norwich and Ipswich being night games etc. I love a Saturday to these games on the train for a 3pm kick off.
First game: Arsenal vs Queen's Park Rangers at Highbury, Saturday 17th November 1984.

Hammersmith - couldn't agree more. Reason I am going to this bother is I really like Norwich away. But a spring Saturday would have been even better. Ipswich turned out all right this yearbut they've stitched us year on year; e.g this and Portsmouth this year, Newcastle and Blackpool last. Shocking.

There are loads more. Ipswich 2 years in a row as been a night game or on a Bank Holiday. Blackpool was in the middle of winter 3 seasons in a row. Newcastle was a night game. Pompey is a night game. Millwall away is a night game. Fancied a good day out on a Saturday for that game.
