  • Bernie Gives More Postive Comments To Indian Broadsheet

I suppose you can attribute the comments to him

, "Mittal is a mate of mine as you know. I told him he should come on board; he took my advice. We want this to work. This is a great old club they haven't always been where they are today. They were challenging Liverpool for the league title back in the Seventies. That is where we want to see them again, in the top flight."

We're not 2nd in the Championship as the article says.
First game: Arsenal vs Queen's Park Rangers at Highbury, Saturday 17th November 1984.

Beetr than most he comes out with!

Related point: been wondering if the fact that Indian nationals look set to take over at Blackburn had any impact on Rangers/Mittal' plan. I just wondered about a knock on effect as there have been clear signs that Rangers were beginning to be pitched at Indian and ex pat market to be "every Indian's favourite club". The CEO/Chair have done lots in that direction. My feeling is that the Blackburn takeover will not be seen as good news in this regard as their Prem Status gives them a bit of a march on that sales pitch. Just a thought.

'Currently placed second in the championship' (We're 1st)

'Their West London rivals Chelsea' (Chelsea are South West)

WTF, I wish they could at least get the facts right before doing an article.
