Find more excuses for the players or systems lack of delivering goals and 3pts and giving the impression that everything is OK and we should be grateful that we are top is a tad funny.

I am well pleased with being top of the league but with a bit of tweaking, we could and should be 6 or 9 points clear. Greedy yes, but that's what it should be.

I do get surprised at some of the comments on here sometimes. We've been in this league for quite a while now and we should really have learnt that it's nothing like the prem. Any team can beat any other team. This league is decided on such fine lines and the difference between the top sides and those at the bottom is minimal. Making up a gap on teams above is difficult too. 6 points over 3rd....even if we lose 3 in a row, I reckon we'd still be in top 2. At the moment we're there to be shot down as we're top and unbeaten. A squad with some quality (which we have) and a great spirit...that's what takes you up. We have shown these qualities. Even when we lose the spirit in the squad will be good because of manager and characters we have. Can the same be said of the supporters? Also, think of forest away coming up...tough, their favorites but they'll come at us, leaving our forward players more space to hurt them.....so for me in a funny kind of way, I'm more confident of getting a win there than beating burnley this sat.

Can't you see that the current forward 4 are not working ?

Oh and one more thing, remember how you felt after forest away last season....or watford or scunny at home....the list is endless and I could go back further. Enjoy it because these are good times

Smith in for hogan and hulse (if fit) for heidur....but that's why we've got a squad. We are creating chances though. Talk of dropping adel is ludicrous, who do you think the opposition talk about stopping before they play us? Who do they swarm around when he gets the ball?

I'm not disputing that. My point is that we have underperformed in 3 out of the last 4. Losing the odd point is fine - it's when it starts to form a pattern that I worry.

Remaining undefeated isn't a bad pattern is it? Not giving our rivals points by losing to them isn't too shabby either.

I'll keep saying but how did Newcastle do in matches 10, 11, 12 and 13? Exactly how many goals did they score in those matches and how many points did they pick up and how many had they picked up after 13 matches?

Got to laugh when the "it will be alright on the night" crowd moan about people who say that things are good, but should be better and class them as moaning.

I give up Paul. I'm not gonna win this one.

OK folks - everything is wonderful so we better start saving for our PREMIER LEAGUE Season Tickets!

I think it called being optimistic rather than looking for the negative in things. I'm not saying that we will be promoted but I'm a much happier person being positive and optimistic than those looking for reasons to moan (not saying that you Toni are doing this but many others are).

i think its a bit too easy to say people are moaning. we all want the same thing and after the brilliant start we all truly believed it. its just that anyone can see that we are still doing really well but the cracks are starting to appear, and things are really slowing up, and others are getting far too close for comfort. we need to adress our goal scoring problem, and we need to do it fast. it would be lovely to have this league sewn up by january, and we could of done, or still could do if we had a proper recognised goalscorer. (which as well as hes done, helguson isnt)
so to sum it all up, its more sheer worry/panic than whinging. cos we all know we are famous for mucking everything up, and if any team was going to do that,,it could so be us.

I guess because I'm a betting man I never let optimism take over. It's a valid point though, I rarely cheer until the fat lady has sung!

My last post on the subject will be to say that we have drifted out to 2.56 to win the league on Betfair (from a low of 1.99), whilst Cardiff are now shortened to 4.4 to win the league, which is more or less the shortest they've ever been. That's the "general punter's" view on latest events.
Obviously a lot depends on Leeds v Cardiff tomorrow night. But even if Leeds win we've still got Swansea to worry about!

Come on fellow R's, lets agree that being top of the league (for at least one more week) is something to celebrate. As a life long supporter or should that be sufferer - I'm as happy as can be............You R's !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
