We dominated tonights game and had Mackies goal stood I am certain would have won the game BUT once again we kept going and ground out another point, a very very good point against a side who battle for every single ball.
We were not lucky we kept plugging away and eventually got the break, you could clearly see which side was top and which weren't.
Bristols performance reminded me of Rangers under Gregory and that win v Birmingham and that win v Wolves, except we equalised, Birmingham or Wolves didn't but both went up !
Might have been lucky but let's be honest BC were lucky to get anything we scored twice, albeit one hit Helguson on the line, we absolute dominated posession away from home and bar our own sloppiness in posession would have hammered them. It's not hard to see we are a whole load better than they are.
Pete delighted but lets not kid ourselves, we were extremely lucky today. Created very little and we need to get back to passing on the floor.
not sure what game you were watching but we were playing it on the floor, the problem tonight was the passing at times was poor espescially in the final third. Defo need to sort that out we were the better team and deserved something from the game.
I liked the commentators comment when talking about our subs, I think it was something along the lines of 'Neil Warnock could probably field another championship winning side from his squad'
Shows our squad is appreciated not just by us.
And how Dave Jones changed after the game because we had equalised, not a happy man, well compared to half time anyway. They'll get theirs.

PREMIER LEAGUE 2011 - ETERNITY (Oh well got that wrong, we'll be back though)
I don't think "we got away with it" last night. We outclassed Bristol City for 90% of the game and had just as many clear cut chances. Not saying we deserved to win but we certainly weren't lucky to get the draw. Not as if at any point in that game we were clinging on.
Taarabt had a shocker, sure (as did Ephraim and Helguson) but he's still got just enough credit in the bank to get away with it. Another one like that though and not so sure.
Might be time to give the starting XI a little freshen up though. Maybe start Smith and Hulse instead of Taarabt and Mackie?
Dave Jones is a complete plum.
Didn't seem to want to admit that we are good -- almost like he doesn't rate us.
Well, I hope he does underrate us, because then he'll get a bit of shock when they play us.
We were much the better side tonight. Bristol City never came at as for a sustained period and it was more like a home game trying to break down a side where defensive discipline was their main objective. Yes, Bristol had a few chances but they were created on the counter because we overstretched ourselves. Yes, Adel didn't have his best game, but he is still our most creative player and I felt Walker was just as much to blame by diving in on Rose rather than jockeying him to a wide position. What we lacked was some guile in the final third - we can't rely on Adel for that all the time. We need the other midfielders to contribute as well. Oddly enough we looked more dangerous when we went direct at the end, but overall I think it was a reasonable result against a side who are in a false position. If Mackie had scored in the early stages of the second half instead of heading it against Heidar we may well have gone on to win.
Ok so we've beaten it that doesn't mean job done though, hopefully the players will push on and we will start winning again, i'm not really worried about the run, ok it's good but when it's reached by 4 draws in 5 games 3 of which were goalless (7pts from 15) i don't believe it is champions form. I wouldn't mind losing one if it means we are gonna win a few after, maybe that's what the players need (a wake up call that it's not over yet).
The Burnley game is a really important game imo as it could mean us staying top or not, i predict another 0-0 although we need to win it.

Spot on. We are a better team defensively and in midfield than any others, but up front we do not have the best forwardline. Cardiff have stolen the 4 points v Bristol and Cov by having a bit of quality in the last third. If we could get another quality forward we would ensure promotion, but with our forward line at the moment it is a bit hit and miss.
I thought we looked stronger than them in every department. Admittedly we weren't firing on all cylinders and Adel was gumming up the works. It was a grafting performance against a team finding a bit of form. Faurlin looked great and Walker was class. Kenny played a blinder.
We could have sneaked it if HH hadn't touched the ball. Smith looks like a good asset and I was impressed by the look of Hulse when he came on. Agyeman looks up for a challenge and his pace will be a real asset over the season.
Bottom line is we got a point and are still top and still unbeaten. We've now got two home games coming up. If you look at SirPie's stats for previously promoted teams results at this stage of the season you will see that even the strongest sides have a run of blips. Our blips are draws, theirs were losses.
I can't believe some of the hysterical reaction. Actually I can. That said we look like a strong side searching for a bit of form. It will return. We still have an 8 point cushion as well. If Pompey go we still stay ahead.
We have just beaten a record which has lasted longer than most people have lived.
We are not going to win every game and whatever happens we will be another 7 days at the top of the championship
its a brilliant record and everyone should be seriously proud, but stevie wonder can see things aint right. one loss could lead to 10 the way we are playing.
its pretty scary, cos we have started so well, and to lose out from automatic would be so painfull.
