  • What Makes a True QPR Football Fan?

I would say its having the time to go and see your club, if you cannot than to follow the club via SKY or the internet. Where you cannot go to games, its good to be able to read other supporters opinions and that makes you feel closer to the club.

I'm not into Gloryhunters so much, whereby when we get promotion fans will suddenly appear out of the woodwork, thats just my opinion. Many will point to the fact, its simply extra fans coming through the turnstiles and thats all good for QPR.

I think its utter ****** to say one person is more a fan than someone based on the games they go to, but I do think its hard for supporters to gage an opinion if they have not seen a game. You will get many who will ask how it went and thats fair enough, but to say someone is c.rap based on the fact they saw them play 2-3 months ago is a bit OTT.

So, my definition of a fan is someone who can make a game when they can, we are all equal in terms of supporting the club, when you live abroad its good to get soundbites from other people who are watching the games to gage an opinion, it cannot be your own as you are not there.

We all want the same thing success on the pitch and stability off it.

Difficult Pete, I have been going since 1985 and have missed only a handful of home games. This year I did not buy a ticket yet have been to all home games expet Donny & Wall due to the birth of my son.
Take SM for instance he travels from IOW every week, thats some journey and commitment, and fair play he writes a good report too, same as Clive comes from bloody Sheffield, but it doesnt make them more of a supporter than someone who lives in White City flats.

    Very difficult question to quantify.

Congratulations on the new arrival Jeffro

I would add my comments but I can see this turning in to another round of messageboard wars once the thread is published or commented on elsewhere so I will refrain and keep out of it

Thanks Isleworth, another Superhoop to combat the chelsea numnuts.
Yes now saying that, Pete has a habit of starting innocent like threads and watching them descend into mayhem.

        Nuff said

coming down from Scotland for every Saturday home game would possibly make me a better fan than say a guy who lives locally - but i don't advocate that as its my choice to live so far away - what makes a QPR fan in my opinion is our history and where we originally come from - Ladbroke Grove. Kilburn, Acton, White City, The Bush etc etc etc and lets be fair most of us support the club cos they're our local team and for many years we've been "VICTIMS OF GEOGRAPHY" but don't yer just "LOVE IT" C'mon U R's

no fans better then another. some come from 1 mile away 10 miles away 100 miles away. we all love QPR and we all love going to games and for some reason or another some cant get to as many as they like to. Some sing some just like to watch the game. it all doesnt matter as long as we're always proud to be QPR we are a true fan

It´s all about loyalty. If you follow the club through thick and thin and it really hurts deep inside when "your club loses, then you are a real fan...

Singing and cheering when you want to, and not when some beered up, chavvy arsewipe, demands that you do.
