  • TEAM FOR fRIDAY.. CHANGES REQUIRED

    KENNY

    ORR
    CONNOLLY
    GORRKS
    WALKER

    FARURLIN
    DERRY
    TAARABT
    SMITH

    HELGUSSON
    HULSE

    Reason for changes:

Hill - Needs a rest, playing with slight stomach problem, has conceded 2 penalties in last 2 games, also lucky against sheff utd away, seems to be lacking a little. give him a rest and return Bradders against his old side as he will be well "up for it".

Mackie- Same as Hill, confidence is a little low, played international and 3 games in a week for us, let Smith have a bite at the cherry as he seems a decent player and needs a run.

Ephraim - Simply to allow Faurlin to play and smith /Adel as wingers.

Hulse - If fit , let him loose.

    Views on the changes??

Would like to see that starting XI as it is very attack minded. Only thing is Hulse is still not fit by all accounts & even if he was NW could never just throw a player in that hasn't played for months.

Good starting team for when they're all back though definitely.

Starting to wonder whether hulse was a lot worse than before injury wise. been 2 months nearly and he keeps sayings hes near fitness, but hasnt even played a reserve game yet!

I know its quite shocking actually. How long does a player need to regain match fitness once his injury has healed? 2 weeks a month?? If thats the case We will be heading for Xmas before we see him.

id like to see that XI at home.. but for brizzle id stick to same formation we use normally.

just have smith in for hogan and hulse for helguson.

i like the idea about walker and orr as fullbacks. no discredit to hill just we need to ensure hill is not burnt out / injured.
Soldier: "im on reconnaissance sir.. im looking for our camouflage expert.. have you seen him?"
          Lovejoy: "No?!"
Soldier: "GOD DAMNIT THAT GUYS GOOD!"

No reason to change the formation. Only change for me would be Smith on for Mackie(who needs a rest, didn't get 2 weeks of during the international break as the rest of the team). Walker on the left would work, but Hill has done nothing to lose his place and we need some physical presence. Walker has been superb on the right and would link up nicely with Smith.
Hope Hulse will play a part, but can't see him starting. Heidar is still number 1 for me, suffering from poor service and support last couple of games.
Would be great having Mackie and Hulse coming off the bench second half

DOnt disagree, but Hill is looking a little tired and why does he keep making rash challenges in dangerous areas including 2 penalties??

Smith is a definate starter as Ephraim seems to have gone back to his old self of not beating a man and moving backwards.

I would start Smith, but up front we haveno choice to to persist with HH as much as he needs a rest as we have no one to replace him wth

The one at Sheff.Utd was blatant, but the one yesterday and against Norwich was very dubious penalties to say the least.
We play a system that suits the players. Mackie, Hogan, Smith, Derry and Taarabt is all better suited playing in a 4-2-3-1 then a 4-4-2. A left hand side of Walker and Taarabt would not work at all. Walker is to offensive minded and Adel doesn't track back at all. At least we agree on Smith getting a start

Walker at LB would be great, as Danny Haynes will cause no end of trouble.

Thing that shocks me the most is even when hulse is back its because he is at a pain barrier he can handle...

Whichever way you look at it he is allways playing in pain, doesnt make me too confident.
Cant believe it, ive been PWOPER MUGGED ORF...

Haynes always plays well against us, so walker would nullify his pace.
Yes Frode, Smith to start deffo, and we agree!!!

                        Here's hoping Damion Stewart starts!!

Cracking start to the season.Best goal difference, loads of clean sheets, un beaten etc...I don't think realistically anyone of us would have dreamt of that.

But yes, although managers do not like to break a winning team( or one thats not losing) a few changes here and there wouldn't go a miss.

Great to see at last a defensive unit that is as good as ours.Like most, slightly concerned about Hulse and definately Heider needs some help up front.

What a difference though in debating how we should maybe , be changing a team that is top of the table.

Exactly Spencer, it's not moaning but it is clear with 3 out of 4 games we have not scored. ( yes i know we havent conceded either)

We know the defence is water tight so leave that, or mayber swap orr for hill to rest him and nullify danny Haynes pace.

Either a) Strikers are off form b) teams have sussed us out

either way it needs a freshen up to keep all on their toes.

Totally agree and after hearing that Hill and walker kept their wingers queit im more than confident that we can do the same to most attacks.

If Orr is fit, nothing wrong with giving Hill a rest.Smith for Hogan looks the obvious choice.Mackie is quiet over last 2/3 games, but certainly not going to hold that against him...But like many, my concern would be up front where our options seem limited.

Clarke is obviously not in favour and Pat is not the answer either.
