  • QPR Girls

As I am sure most are aware, QPR Girls are currently trying to raise £5000 to pay for a trip to an overseas tournament in 2011.

So far they have raised £2057.25.

Steve Quashie has now set up a Just Giving page on the web where people can contribute.

    http://www.justgiving.com/QPRGirlsFC

    Good luck to them.

I saw it over on another QPR message board.

Would have hoped that the club would have promoted it as well........

There should not be any need to promote it whatsoever the club should stick there hands in their pockets ffs:yush:

None the less fair play to any site that has done I will certainly put some money in the pot.

Totally agree with that £5000 isn't exactly a great deal of money to our owners......

For those not familiar with the QPR girls team here is the blurb from Steve Quashie :

Last season the QPR Girls team had one of their most successful seasons to date winning the League, League Cup, Middlesex County Cup, Tesco Southern Region and Tesco English National Winners. They also represented England at the Reebok Stadium in the Tesco UK Home Finals. Following on from this success the QPR Girls FC has increased the amount of registered players and now boasts five underage squads ranging from U11-U18. QPR Girls FC are funded completely separately to the club/centre of excellence and have their own bank account. The Girls programme is headed by Steve Quashie, and the philosophy which is shared by all staff is; work ethic, to support the players during their contact hours at the club, and facilitating the players learning in order to help them reach their ultimate potential. Throughout the technical training programme all outfield players are encouraged to express themselves on the ball, demonstrating high levels of skill and competence whether performing individually or as a collective unit. To reward this success and further enhance the development of the girls we are raising funds to send them to compete on tour in a football tournament in summer 2011. The aim is to raise £5000 and we are doing this in various ways. We have held a match day fundraiser and also the supporters club is running a fundraising event. All proceeds to this justgiving page will be donated from QPR in the Community Trust to The QPR Girls FC’s separate bank account. Many thanks for your kind generosity.

WATRB's next months donation can go to the QPR Girls, if you don't have money to donate then please help by pressing play on the video advert at least once a day, it does add up.

I think it is a liberty that they are asking people to fund the QPR Girls team. If they dont have enough money to run the team themselves, dont have them.

Nothing risky at all, the last 18 months has proven in many cases that you cant have something if you cant afford it and as for girls football, not interested.

Risky as in all "do-gooders" may jump on your back, still up to you, couldnt care less about womens football and I still think my old Sunday team would have beaten any womens team in this country, including Arsenal womens etc.

Let them jump, its because of "do-gooders" that this country is in the mess it is and has changed forever.
