i feel we need a 1 month loan striker to freshen it up. clarke and agyemang arent good enough in my books. hulse isnt fit.

sadly thought unless we ship agyemang out i dont see us getting a new striker in onloan.

would have thought NW would play smith uptop

Dont rate clarke and Aggy is shite,Hulse is 2 weeks away(again) and while better than the other two by a mile still isnt the quality we need, just look at Cardiff, who they can call on if its 0-0 with 15 mins to go and note they got their 2 winners late on in their last 2 games, they WILL overtake us soon because they have quality strikers,3 of them, even NW has admitted that and he is not stupid and will address this soon i hope. Can i also point out that i think that is the only position i think needs strenghtening at this stage.

Give it a rest you nauseating old git!
Rebel's talking about us not getting promoted without a decent striker....well we have two.
          You're talking about getting a decent back-up in......that's a completely different argument.
I've not see enough of Clarke to say he's not up to it. Dave seems to be trying his all this season. Added to that, we have tried to get strikers but decent ones are difficult to get hold of. I think that we may get one in January if we're still in a good position. However, I don't think now is the time to start saying we won't get promoted as we're top! The strikers mentioned are not going to improve our squad.
Who is a realistic target for us?

ive never thought helguson is the man to get us promotion as champions (or second), he has undoubtedly played far beyond his capabilities in the first 6 games, but now we are getting back to the man he is, just not good enough for champions. we need hulse so badly, and without going against the manager (cos hes god), hulse has been his worst purchase so far, and for one reason only, that he cant play for us. hence us not having a top class striker, cos buying a crocked one was the wrong move, we needed one ready to play straight away, not 'whenever'.
also mackie was never going to keep up that scoring record, even the best centre forward in the country would have struggled to keep that up, he is not our goalscorer, and the goals he got were a great bonus, but not to be relied on.

So we will only address the problem if it turns out to be not much of a problem? Don't get the logic of that. The only reason why we might not be top or near tp in Jan is due to our lack of fire power. Why not try to address it now rather than trying to play catch up in January? (if of course a good striker could be loaned from a prem club).

The original argument/thread was for us to get in a decent striker to take the pressure off of our front 2.

Alas after each nil-nil draw Warno just keeps going on about what a cracking game it was and doesn't seem in the least concerned about the striker situation. Just hope he knows something that isn't obvious to the rest of us...

yeah whatever, i aint grumpy im being realistic. and the reality is we are sliding downwards, we NEED promotion and we NEED it this year or i doubt we will EVER get it.
and these performances are not what we have come to expect this season and they are not good enough to get us up automatic. im worried, if you aint then all good, but you aint in the real world. (oh and all you heguson fan boys ill wager he doesnt score again this season from open play.)
now im off to do my homework

Guess NW is right in what he says because we are picking up very good points against decent teams BUT like you say i'm pretty sure deep down he's slightly concerned about our lack of firepower. At the end of the day like you previously mentioned why wait? Prevention is better than cure.
