  • Rangers are 6th

I compose my own 'form' tables based on a mix of match statistics combined with the quality of the opposition. It takes in the last 4 games only because form is temporary, and throws up some interesting facts.

    Current 'form' table:-
    1 Doncaster 108 pts
    2 Derby Co 103
    3 Reading 100
    4 Millwall 98
    5 Ipswich 96
    6 QPR 95
    7 Burnley 94
    8 Portsmouth 93

I do this for 'investment' purposes mainly, and the info is taken from the Sporting Life site. Anyone do similar or am I just a bit sad.

I do something similar, but also include forthcoming games in my analysis.

Swansea's next two matches are Leicester (h) and Palace (a) - if they beat us tonight (quite possible) they could be very near top of the table by the end of the month.

The 25/1 could go a lot shorter. They have to play Cardiff at home soon but apart from that their fixture list looks fairly easy for the forseeable.

              25/1 looks pretty good Toni
Did you see the 100/1 available on Derby? at e/w would be 20/1 for top 3 finish at 1/5 odds, and they are top 2 for current form.
I actually use my data for match bets and the pools. For tonight I have wins for Reading, Burnley, Norwich and Ipswich. All ather games are very close and I''ve done them as draws.

Need to mention that this table is to do with form over the last 4 games only, in case there was any misunderstanding by anyone

Gerry - did you keep similar form tables last year, and if so how do we compare with this time last year? I seem to remember that October was our best month last season.

I don't keep the old records because I tend to constantly update on a week to week basis, but I remember last season we were very inconsistant and dramatically up and down the form table. I recall last year we started pretty well, in the top 6, and then we were well clear at the top around October time, scored 4 goals in 3 consec games I seem to remember, and then in the new year Jan or Feb we went into total freefall, only stabalising in March April time. Shows how important team confidence, and stability of manager is.

                    I'm on Derby already.

I think Coventry could do us a big favour by beating Cardiff tonight too.

Cardiff's last 2 games were against 2 of the bottom 3 in my form table, so they didn't beat much, and Coventry's win at Ipswich will be a confidence boost for them, so yes Coventry could turn Cardiff over.
My only doubt is that the match stats show that Ipswich should have won that game with Coventry. So I agree Cardiff could drop points tonight, but to me it looks a draw.
I do think Swansea will overtake Cardiff in the league in the runup to xmas which will upset them a tad.
