Mate, you are clearly back tracking. You've stated he's past it and not good enough. Now you're happy for him to be part of the squad?

By the way, this isn't having a pop, just trying to get clarification. End of the day, my opinion is that you are wrong. Your latest reply has confused me a little.

i aint backtracking, your like a dog with a bone.
in my opinion gavin mahon at 33 and after a year out with a horrific injury is NOT, repeat NOT good enough to be a first team starter for a championship winning side.
thats my statement and my thoughts, if he starts we are going downhill from here on in.

anyone who thinks different to that then fine, but i want premiership football, and i want it bad. and to me mahon as first choice is not good enough to bring us that.
maybe i dont see his briilliance like you mate, but i have watched him a fair few times, and hes not as good as any other first team starter we have.
if we have to resrt to starting him, then we really are at the bare bones of our squad, and that doesnt bode well, cos its a long hard season.
but if im wrong, then ive been watching the wrong game for years.
He is better than Legs.Maybe NW is looking at other options and waiting for the right moment to get someone in.

I also didn't get the importance of mahon last season untill he got injured.Sometimes the better players are not always noticed.

Is he good enough for premiership? Good god no...but as we all aware, you need one team to get up another to survive, another to etc etc...

mahon will do a steady job for us in a position at the moment we seem to be lacking.

          Nothing personal - just opinions.
