  • Adel... time to give him a rest?

I know that there will be plenty on here who will slate me for even suggesting this but... I thought he was very ordinary today and to be honest I was quite frustrated at the fact that he took every dead ball whether it was a corner or free kick and nothing or very little was created as a result...

It would like to see him drop to the bench on Tues and Tommy Smith given a go and then AF come in for Buz....

Adel seems to be struggling at present and maybe a period on the bench will rediscover his early season form.. it could also be because he's getting worked out as it were by other teams but whatever I feel that changes are definitely required... be interested to see what others think???

If we do as you suggest he will hand in a transfer request. Thatīs a problem.

No player is bigger than the club and tbh he hasn't performed for about 5 games now, he has gone back to over playing and not passing the ball to players in better positions, so frustrating to watch as he has all the skills to be a quality player but not the brain

its all about the team, not just an individual so if his reaction was like that rev then good riddance i say.

When was the last time you heard 'Taababt's too good for you' and Mackie now gets the biggest cheer when the teams are read out before kick off. Judging by what people were talking about on the train going home, many people want the Taarabt from the first month back.

Other teams have sussed us out and perhaps we need to change it around a bit. At home teams are getting numbers behind the ball and making it hard to brake them down. Every time Adel gets the ball they double up on him and I don't think he's played that well for the last 3 or 4 games.

The Taarabt from the first month had Faurlin behind him.
Still have absolute faith in getting the old Taarabt back (and the team's ability to comfortably whack teams 3-0) when Faurlin returns.
Faurlin is my hero!!! Love him!!! #########

                Can't argue with that.

I have strongly opposed this up til now but I'm thinking the team needs a gee up & he's just not doing the business.

Just got back in and was going to do an almost identical thread but you beat me to it.Thank god there are others of a like mind.

Apart from an early sublime through ball into the path of Mackie and one nutmeg, both of which came to nothing,Taarabt did little for me other than to considerably frustrate a large section of the crowd and some of the players around him. He's getting back to his old ways. Not only does his show-boating break down promising moves close to the opponents penalty area, but invariably sets up the opposition for a counter-attack when we are in the ascendancy.

He even tried a ridiculous 30 yard chipped free kick which sailed way over the bar, when power was the order of the day.It was one of the few set piece chances we had in the second half and an absolutely wasted opportunity. The guy's starting to p*ss me off big time.Give me Smith in that position any day of the week. He's much more of a team player and took a couple of free kicks late in the game which found HH and nearly paid dividends.AT is a legend in his own mind and needs to be brought down a peg or two.

Sorry cant agree. Yes he didnt put in a match winning performance, but Adel still put in a lot of quality whipped crosses and corners into the box.

                    Hogan did nothing of note.

Granted HE had a disappointing game too but I don't agree about AT putting in quality crosses, I thought his corners and free kicks were pretty woeful overall and he lost possession so many times it was extremely annoying to say the least...

Agreed on Smith's couple of free kicks they looked far more dangerous and would deffo play him on Tues and have AT on the bench champing at the bit if required....

I would like to see Faurlin replace Buzz, Buzz replace Taarabt in the free role, Smith replace Hogan and Hulse replace HH. Every other position is rock solid

Adels game revolves around fourlin, Hogans game revolves around adels.....so fourlin is the cog they work off......simples....we need a fit fourlin back like yesterday.
                            They seek him here.................

With or without AF on the pitch some of his wayward passing and loss of possession would still have occurred... I am desperate for him to start playing well again as it will obviously benefit the team but at present it is obvious that he is struggling ala Wayne Rooney (but without the hookers.. probably..)
