Robert Pires has issued a come-and-get-me plea to any Premier League suitors interested in his services, and revealed he was desperate to finish his career playing in England.
QPR? I would be attracted. I am not necessarily looking for a six-month contract. I could imagine myself playing much longer. I will give myself until January 31. If at the end of the winter transfer market I have not found a club, I will hang up my boots.'
Thats why. alright mate, thats why.
did you even read it?
Quote = "QPR, I WOULD BE ATTRACTED"
to me that says hes attracted.
Pires isn't a mercenary. He has moved back to London to the old house he had whilst at Arsenal and is settling down whilst his kids go to school over here. Think he lived in St Albans way and also bought one of the flats at Highbury.
Completely different player to Davids where you don't notice the lack of pace and age. I think Pires wanted a longer term (18 month) deal to sign for anyone. Given Warnock's comments, can't see him coming here but would love it on a short term deal.

I did read it - I also read the bit which says if he doesn't get a contract he'll retire, which basically means he'll be attracted to any side that offers him a contract. I also read the bit which said he'd like to play for Villa, Brum or Stoke - hardly means "he really wants to come here" like you stated.

nice twist man.
i said 'he really would want to come', and them words exactly.
and i read 'qpr, im attracted' as just that, hes named us, and that to me says he would come if offered a chance, cos being attracted means that does it not?
or do you think hes palying a practical joke?

Sorry if you feel that you've been misquoted but how is "he really would want to come as well" and "he really wants to come here" that different?
The first is your quote and the 2nd is me quoting you but I got it wrong slightly but the context is exactly the same. It's not that I've drastically changed what you said.
I don't think he is playing a practical joke - he might never of said anything. Pires was a fine player. I've no idea how good he is now and how good he would be at this level but he may never have given the interview, he may have been misquoted or even the translation may be wrong or he could be attracted to us. With home crowds averaging 15K, playing in the 2nd tier of English football and a team he has no previous connection with I can't understand how we are attractive. If you can fine. Difference of opinion is what makes any forum work. I'm just saying that I don't believe to a player like Pires we are an attractive proposition unless money is involved i.e. we are the only club prepared to pay him what he wants.
A few seasons ago Kevin Phillips gave up the chance of Premiership football with WBA and moved a few miles down the road to Birmingham because they were prepared to offer him the contract he wanted. Nothing to do with being attractive simply they could offer him a better deal. Now I'd say if Brum, Stoke or Villa can only offer Pires a 6 month contract and any other club offers him 12 or even 18 months then they too will be called attractive. Not because he wants to play for that particular club but because they can offer him want he wants.
No twist. No playing games. Just a simple difference of opinion.
If Pires comes out and says I want to sign for QPR then I'll hold my hands up and say I was wrong but like Michel Salgado a few seasons I don't believe leaving Spain to sign for someone like Blackburn was his first choice just like I don't think signing for QPR would be Pires'.
