  • QPR V Norwich Memories

Anyone have memories of this matches over the years, I am working on input for a programme in Norfolk this week, it will also come in handy for the QPR Player programme this Saturday.

Particularly looking for memories pre 1981. (though my memory is shocking to say the least)

Anyone go, one from last game 75-76 season where we basically lost the title?

A bank holiday match - not sure either easter or Boxing day.

We won 3-2 at HQ and Tony Roberst let one go straight through him some how, only for Andy McDermot to fire one in from the edge of the box in the final few minutes.

Didnt Gavin Peacock score a cracking Volley in one of our many Boxing Day fixtures against them, before the computer decided to make Plymouth our resident boxing day fixture!

wasnt that at the loft end? crouch chested a long ball down into the path of gav, who smashed it on the volley. i remember that vividly, though i cant remember who we were playing.

My first ever game was against Norwich on Boxing Day 1996.

We won 3-2 and I think John Spencer scored?

Does anyone know any other info about the game?

Will never forgive them for THAT day.

It changed our history... and Liverpool FC's.
                      We deserved that title.

I remember getting my head kicked in at Carrow Road in the mid seventies.

                          Hope that helps.

I remember a much more recent one...We won 1-0 with 10 men. A lovely Martin Rowlands free-kick sealed it. The best bit was staying right until the end, meaning Pete had to run with us to the train station so as we caught the last train home. Funny as fook as he was absolutely dying and sweating buckets.

Of course, there was the one where we lost 3-0, but I was too wasted to remember anything other than Ched (currently, prawned in the bath) smashin one in, and then flapper trying to play CM for the 3rd. I don't even remember Stewart being sent off, nor MC-ing on the train home...What a chopper.
                            Your mum would love me...

My first visit was 'that day' when Boyer was a mile offside and changed the history of QPR. I will never forget the majority of the away end sitting on the grass bank behind the stand with their heads in their hands. I also remember going down their when Roeder scored and we won 3-0 and the Devon White game, Bruno, Bruno, Bruno.
My eldest was mascot for the home Boxing Day match when Peacock scored, he was on the pitch when the permanent signing of Miklosco was announced and then fulfilled his ambition of scoring past him infront of the Loft.
                              RIP: Doug, Sniffer and Pat
