  • Sharif pens professional contract now?

Mo Sharif has signed a pro contract.

Good to see the club getting up-and-coming youngsters on contracts. Hopefully we'll never have another Raheem Stirling issue

Was delighted to see this on the Official today. Warnock built up a great young policy at Palace hopefully he can do the same here. Nothing beats one of your homegrown players coming though and making the grade

Well the club needs youngsters to survive... look at Watfords young team.

Its a shame becuase it would had been nice to have kept Sterling, oBrian and Parret.

Though that, on the heels of the Andrade deal, it bodes well for the future that we are keeping hold of rated youngsters, rather than them wanting to move on like Parratt and Stirling.

That was a youth contract. This is a professional one, which is what this thread was about.

Anyway, I'm pleased for him and I think this shows how important scouting systems are. Getting a lad like this from non-league outfits are just as good and give me as much pride as seeing us nurture a school boy into a full 1st teamer.

Well done to the club, and well done Mo.

                      Sharif signs for QPR

Slough Town starlet Mo Sharif has signed a one-year contract with Championship side Queens Park Rangers following a successful trial.

The youngster, who came through the youth ranks with the Rebels, was not on contract so the club will not receive a fee.

But boss Steve Bateman has revealed that Rangers have agreed to send a strong side to Holloways Park in the near future for a potentially money spinning friendly.

FFS - Does it REALLY matter? Maybe, if he had signed a pro deal in August it would have been on the offy? Maybe the Maidenhead Advertiser (right up there with the Wall Street Journal imho) got the terms of the deal wrong, as it wasn't reported anywhere else? Maybe, as the Slough Manager said, he wasn't able to sign him on a contract until his full-time education finished (hence no fee as he wasn't under contract)? Surely all that really matters is that a promising youngster, who not so long ago may have ended up somewhere else, is signing for us?
