Since then I've been to a couple of league games, the Milk Cup Final and brought a High School football team I coached over to see the thrilling 2-2 draw with Liverpool in the 1990 FA Cup QF! I've seen alot of highs and lows in that time but I've always been an avid supporter, it's great to see them come out of the gate strong this year! I obviously am not able to see many games so I rely on this board for some first hand observations of what's going on! There's been a few matches available for us to see on television/internet over here and they've been great to watch! Without actually seeing the matches I am limited to what I can post but I will join discussions when I can! Look forward to participating! gator

Doubt you will ever have too, maybe the Carling
I blew a lot on vodka and tonic, gambling and fags. Looking back, I think I overdid it on the tonic. - The one and only Stanley Bowles

It's too bad your bro met up with such a rag tag bunch as the Leafs, can't stand them, but good for them to treat a QPR guy well, I asume he's a Ranger! You should come over, most people love to visit, it's harsh in the winter though! I'm real happy to chat with all you QPR people, makes me want to take a trip over there! I'll have to tell the board about the legend of Danny Dichio at my local club (TFC)! That will need it's own thread though! Silvercue, I had to pull some strings to get this fancy avatar Look forward to posting and chatting more on the board!
My brother is a big ice hockey fan, he was a very talented player and was playing for a team at the highest level in england. A good friend of ours still plays and can often be found on sky sports playing for the Nottingham hockey team... I used to play myself but left hockey for football. Gotta say i loved hockey, wish i had kept to it..

We have a rink near our house but ive sold all the gear i had yonks ago, expensive stuff buying it all again!

Yeah my bros a ranger ofcourse!
Cant believe it, ive been PWOPER MUGGED ORF...

Ice hockey is totally different and it's obviously more of a man's game because it involves... Ice.

Which is very dangerous to pensioners and the frail.

Trust me, YBR, I've played cricket, state level, opened the batting (state junior level) and you have 6"2' guys bowling at your head, that was scary (pre-helmet days), but the most frightening thing I have ever faced on a field is penalty corner practice in field hockey, the juniors had to face the seniors for penalty corners for hours, as a defender, my job was to stand on the line, and then rush toward the opposing penalty corner hitter as he either a) blasted the ball to your body, or b) sliced the ball at your head, it was a suicide run, only lunatics would run toward the hitter, and even if you are on the goal line, they would be slicing it at head height, there were a lot of broken teeth, bones and dislocated shoulders in field hockey, and unlike Ice hockey, we don't wear helmets and padding.
