  • If we get promoted, how much will we need to spend

And where will we get the money from to compete?

I can't see the Board splashing stupid money, so we'll have to get it from somewhere and Season Tkts for one can't go much higher, or more people will be priced out.

We're gonna have to spend a good few million to just stay up.

Early or not, the answer is simple: a lot.

25/30 million will do it, and keep us up as well.

if we dont go up now it will be the biggest shock in years. its a statistical fact that teams with our points always go up automatic, so dont go against the statistics mayn.

that is true, but remember it is QPR we are talking about here. We have blown more leads than David Milliband.

i so know, and i bet there isnt a single one of us who isnt shiteing themselves thinking when are we going to #### it all up.
i mean they are still trying to give us all heart attacks with the last minute goals saturday and derby etc

We all know that at some stage we will fook it up its just when!!!

Seriously, I think a draw vs Norwich and two wins, Swansea & Bristol away, will give enough daylight between us and third place. So when it all goes pear-shaped we might just get away with it!
22nd February away v Charlton is the 40th Anniversary of my support of QPR and my first game. Away v Chelsea 3-3 23rd Feb 1974. 40 years of pure magic!!

I did say IF and why not be positive, we Rz top of the League and you'd think they'd be planning ahead for what might happen.

Another way of looking at it is who's good enough for Premier and how much would it cost to fill the gaps.

If we can't be optimistic now, then when can we be - Played 10, lost Zilch - We ARE going up.

Mark i'm with you pal. Tongue in cheek sir.

Who would be good enough for prem?

                          Connoly
                          Faurlin
                          Kenny
                          Gorkks
                          Walker
                          Ephraim
                          Taarabt
                          Smith
                          Buzz
                          Mackie

I think we have a better squad than Blackpool and I don't need to say anymore than that. Keep those mentioned & buy 5 BIG players & it gives you a fighting chance imo.

The spend depends on whether or not we just buy short-term to build a team good for one season or if we have a longer-term approach. To just have a one-season blast at finishing 17th wouldn't cost mega-mullions; we'd probably only need 4/5 older players with one last hurrah left in them who wouldn't cost much. We'd be shopping for likes of Paul Scholes, Emile Heskey etc etc. However, to pick up prem class "low mileage" players would cost laods more. To be honest, we'd probably be better of shopping/buying in this January's window - if we're still top come xmas I'd say it would be really wise/prudent to buy players for the prem and NOT players to just get us in the prem.

I'd go for stability first, build the fan base and a new stadium and then go for it - how long would that take, 5 years ?
