  • January

In previous seasons posters who claim to be ITK have said things like "if we are there or there abouts in January, the board will get its chequebook out". But what is the feeling this season? Arguably we don't need anyone more, particularly if we are still top of the league. Against that injuries to Hulse and Helguson, for instance, or Hill could change that. We also have players who, with all the goodwill in the world, probably wouldn't make the step up to the Premiership (Derry and Hill, say, if only due to age) and there might even be questions over players such as Hogan and Orr. Would January be the time to bring in a slightly better class of player that wd know they would only need to spend six months in the Championship before going up (hopefully), which would allow them to slot in gradually? Or will Warnock think "why rock a happy ship, I'll wait till the summer like I did last year then I can rebuild if and when we get promoted"? Thoughts plse.

if we are still top and winning most of the time, there will be no need to spend. squads big and strong.
tho id love us to break our record and bid 10 million for walker, cos if and when we go up we really need young players of that quality.

I think it depends nearer the time. We will need to add a couple of players even just for cover, the final 1/4 is where most teams falter mainly due to fitness levels and injury, thats where we need to be ready.

So I say 2 players min.

Hopefully we can keep Walker for the season. He is class at this level. Probably the best fullback we've seen at Rangers for a long while and Orr ain't half bad either.

Hill has proved his early doubters wrong but the left back position could be a worry if he gets injured. Walker could probably fill in their if needed.

I guess it's something we need to look at when we get there. It's a long season so chances are their will be injuries along the way. Remember how our season fell apart after Mahon got injured. If the same happened to Derry I'm not sure we have anyone to fill his vital role as Legs has not looked good enough when he's been involved.

Think we will pull out all the stops to get WALKER, which is a bit unfortunate for Bradley Orr.

I would imagine in January we will be buying players that could crack it in the premiership, if we are looking certs for promotion. Long way to go of course, but January could see some very good players coming to Loftus Road.

All a matter of waiting and seeing.

you can never have too many strikers
we have service from the midfield, a couple of fine goalies and defensive midfielders and centre-halves, but forwards and especially fullbacks are always important.
