I typed up a sort of table of stats from last 10 yrs and pasted it into my post... apologies if the formatting goes awry. If it does, the gist of it all is at the end.

Average pts of runner up = 87
Average pts of 6th place = 73

7 times in last 9 years one of the top two were relagated straight back down following year.
At least 1 of the top two stay up every year though.

Based on above, we need another 61 points to go up and another 47 to make the play-offs.
