I thought this thread was about Buz and the main point I was trying to make is he is doing a decent job even out of position. He hasn't had a run in his own preferred patch for a long time so a few of the swipes being thrown at him seem to me unfair.
On Adel, he has been on the wane for the last few matches - no one seems to be trying to argue with that. (the goal on Saturday was a gift from Jamie M and invloved littel input from him so let's not mix that up as evidence of his own performance). He was frankly uninfluential on Saturday. As he has been increasingly lately. I think that means you have to ask the question of him and how you use him for the team. It seems to me plain silly not to look critically across the piece. Indeed I think Warnock did just that and is taking Adel off earlier and earlier with each passing game lately. An alternative approach to that would be to start Adel on the bench and use him as impact sub. I actually quite like that idea - worked well for a stint last year. And I think it is right that the interchange in midfield will be between Buz and Adel and they will BOTH have to get used to wearing the same shirt. Ultimately I guess it will come down to who makes a better pairing up front with Helgur or Hulse as to who will be preferred to start with the other being used to mix it up as needed. On current form I'd start with Buz and bring Adel on rather than the other way round but that is a matter of opinion of course.

Adel will alwyas be dangerous but so will Buzz. I would bet that if they both played a full season in the 'hole' Buzz would score more, and probably Adel more assists. Buzz's shooting is far superior, Adel's is all over the place. Buzz is also a fantastic passer of the ball (like Adel), but Adel is scary when he runs at people (Buzz isn't). We are lucky to have them both.

After the first game, Warnock said he would have played Buzz instead of Derry. Obviously Derry had performed out of his skin since. I doubt Warnock would want to set a team in stone right now, as he wants everyone to keep on their toes for a space - Tarbs, Faurlin, everyone. No one has a divine right to play and I am sure if Buzz is on the bench for the next game, Warnock will make sure he gets on and makes sure everyone on the pitch knows that he is a threat to their position.
One point about Buzz's defensive capabilities - we have not conceded a goal with him on the pitch this year.
As for us being overrun in midfield - we were pretty much under the cosh against Barnsley for a long time before they cracked. Likewise, Derby murdered us. If we have not had as much space in midfield of late, it's because other teams have man-marked Taarabt.Last edited by stanleymarsh; 04-10-2010, 10:00 PM.

Frid I can't see there is any point talking football with you RockandRoll. You have put up video evidence that could only prove the opposite to the point you say you are trying to make.
If you think Adel should play no matter what he actually plays like then we will just have to agree to differ. I simply repeat that I do not think he played well on Saturday - the goal he got was gifted to him from JM and do not try to tell me otherwise - it was not about whether Mackie could've got it himself or not it is the fact that any child could have scored the set up Mackie gave him so it does not make him super for tapping it in!!!
He hasn't played well for few now. I am not sure if you go to games or not but if you do I cannot see how you might say otherwise. So all I was saying is he should be used differently. Not stuck by slavishly but weaved into a team and uysing his impact. Adel doesn't play 90 minutes as a rule. Or perhaps you would also like to tell me he is a workhorse???!
