  • A good attendance what will it take?

Seeing as there was only 15,300 at the game against Millwall the other night and that was a London derby, what is it going to take to get a sell out (if possible) this season or at least beat our highest attendance last season of 17,082 which was on 30 Oct against Leicester just after our good run and when it all started to go wrong.
We are after all top of the league and 6 points clear.
I wonder how many of the 20,000 Norwich season ticket holders travel and will be here for our next home game as that could be a good one if we beat Palace on Saturday.

It won't be to around March that we see sell outs. Looking at the history of clubs promoted in previous seasons, its around that point fans come back. I guess now its still a financial issue for some, because if you go now probably end up going all the time, but with 3-4 games in comparison its nopt a big outlay.

always remember going Wolves a couple of years ago (think they got promoted on the day) and most of the Wolves fans were really peeved that suddenly they had full gates and even asking where they had been. Those fans who just pitched up were getting on the system, so they could purchase forthcoming season tickets for the premiership. I have no doubt, that if we get promoted than 9,000 season ticket will be snapped up in a week. Still cannot get my head around why a fixture against manchester Utd is more appealing than say Millwall, but it is for a great many.

If we played any of the big 4 in the FA CUP, not only would we sell out at home, but away we would sell the maximum allocation even if it was around 7,000.

Norwich will come close. I have a number of fair weather supporter mates out for this one on the back of that Sun offer. And the two week break may whet some appetites. Plus Norwich are beatable yet towards top of table and snapping at our heels. And they'll bring a few. So its possible.

Leeds last day will defo be full no matter what happens. Black market will be up for that one if we are going up

I think that the local fans need to...

make more of an effort unless people cannot genuinely afford to go that is... I don't know much about the actual area but when I walk from where we park it always seems like quite a densely populated area so WHERE ARE our local fans?

I'm not going to make a big deal of the distance that I travel when I attend (about 75-80miles) as there are people who travel a lot further but it does make me wonder what it will take. Even when we had that purple patch under JM crowd attendances on the whole were pretty embarrassing...

Perhaps the club ought to be making more of an effort to encourage local fans to come along with promotions to those who live within a 3mile radius or something.. I know that there is a lot of social housing very nearby so money is probably quite tight there but maybe these are the people who they should be targeting? Just a few thoughts......

We've already had good attendances v Millwall and v Middlesbrough. We can't control the number of away fans, and there were few empty home seats for either match.

Leeds is at home. Norwich will fill their end in a fortnight. See no reason why we won't. All I was saying was better chance than most others.

There are living along the A40 corridor, where a new ground should be built, if indeed we do build one.

That would lose fans, I travel from Romford and we have a fair few fews who travel in from East London and Essex.

The attraction of Rangers is the fact we are a London club being closest of all clubs to the centre of London.

We are not some tin point surburban club stuck in the middle of no where, for every fan you may gain becoming a mini Reading you will definately lose one.

New stadium required, but must be on the BBC,Scrubbs,or old Linford Christie stadium.

I remember Arsenal and Man City fans saying the same and now West Ham and Spurs fans are on it now, until they actually move.

How do these figures work?? Only 900 or so left for Millwall and i believe the same sort of amount for the home game agianst Middlesbro, yet both games only 15k or so, just doesn't add up.

Arsenal moved about 100 yards, Man City stayed local, West Ham if anything are moving into they strong hold if they move to Stratford which is still close to Upton Park, and Spurs new ground is next doot to WHL.

You are talking about moving miles up the A40 into surburbia, surely if all living out that way were so keen they could just jump on the tube to W12.

Move out there and we will lose support.

I remember a discussion on here ages ago about the initial price rise in ST's and someone posted that they saw Ali Russel before a game and they had mentioned the price rise and how unfair it was that fans who had been going for ages were priced out, his response was something like he did not care about the ones that could not come, he cared about the ones that could.

These are the kind of people running the show and they don't really care who is sitting on the seat, as long as someone is.
