  • Lots of time to yet folks... and lots in reserve...

Reading some stuff from last night I got the impression that there were the first rumblings of discontent. Last night's result was not a disaster and by all accounts we could and should have won reasonably handsomely....

Thing is because we have got off to a freakishly good start which is beyond EVERYONE's wildest dreams as per usual expectations have risen and become a little unrealistic.. Take AT for instance.. he started off like a train and was bamboozling players left right and centre... managers have done their homework and he is struggling to adapt by the sounds of things but he's young and will learn how to cope.. Don't for one minute suspect that NW won't have a game plan up his sleeve to help the boy and team out...

Anyway, my main point being is that it is a very long season as we all know and there are a number of players waiting in the wings... Hulse, Faurlin, Orr(when KN goes back) and if we are there or there abouts come Jan and we need reinforcements then no doubt the board will back NW as they have done already...

Crikey, this time last year we were in nowhere near as good a position so just trust NW et al to do the business and enjoy the ride all the way back to the Premmo...............

are you sure? i dont think anyone is discontent with yesterday, we were the better team and should have won, but it just didn't happen. No discontent at all.

Silly post. Dropping AT has NOTHING to do with being discontent.

Infact every player knows they have to perform to keep there place in the side.

I would say you couldn't be further from the truth because fans now realise we have a decent squad so players like Adel shouldn't be guarenteed starters. Just because your an adel fan which many of us are, doesn't mean you should twist posts.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Dropping AT is absolutely not the answer & is actually the most pathetic thing I've heard since we were signing Michael Owen.

The boy feeds off of confidence hence him having the armband, he is not skipper material everyone & his dog can see that, NW has given him responsibility to help his game & keep him focused. Yes last night was a little frustrating as he was doing his 40 step overs & no end product routine at times when it was maybe easier to make a simple pass BUT people are short sighted & forget what he brings to our team in terms of flair, vision, creativity & tenacity. Yes it was frustrating but Millwall had 10 men behind the ball most of the second half so he was trying to pull something out of the bag I can live with that.

In a nutshell teams will get wise to us but that's where NW will earn his corn countering that.

Keep doing what we're doing and we will be more than ok. Taarabt whipped 3 balls across the face of the goal last night that were begging for a touch it just wasn't to be. No disaster we learn & move on.

            Agree Ric-Roc,

He also had at least 2 players surrounding him whenever he got near the ball. This should have created space for others, in fact it did, but they failed to use it.

Far too narrow and much more long ball than was necessary last night. So frustrating that once again we got sucked into the other teams hoofing tactics, when keeping the ball on the floor and playing through them was paying off with creating opportunities.

It's very hard to complain too much after our start to the season, without sounding like spoilt children. However, last night was not a good performance at all. One we need to learn from sharpish as there can't be many teams as poor as Millwall.

              Correct Brighton.

Millwall came to stifle us and to a degree they succeeded but saying that from what I saw in the 2nd half we had enough chances to win it. Taarabts brain works faster than others on a football pitch they just need to read what he's going to do. He does a few step overs that didn't work & people want him dropped. He nearly scored with a snap shot, put 3 superb balls across the box that no one capitalised on & before last nights games was top of the division for assists. What more do people want?! Get a grip folks.

There is a difference from wanting Tarrabt used in the best way and wanting him dropped. I am not aware anyone suggested he was shite and needed to go. The point being made was that Taraabt can be marked out of the game, as he was last night, and increasingly will be as teams wake up to him. Keeping him on for 90 minutes when his card is marked and he is simply running into trouble and losing possession is not , I suggest, the best plan nor use of him. Far better imo to use him to shake things up, either from the bench or by being replaced but either way to change the shape of the team and create openings.

On a related topic, the way he is used will probably have to change to accommodate what Hulse is bringing to the table when he is fit. Just my opinion.

We just need to limp to the international break and recharge our batteries.
After that we will have many more fit players to select from, and I'm certain Faurlin being back will see all the team (including AT) back to the form we saw at the start of the season.
(I got the impression that any discontent last night was with the ref and the Millwall fnas -- not sure in which order, though.)
Faurlin is my hero!!! Love him!!! #########
