  • My views on the game and NOT the handbags.

I came home yesterday feeling disappointed with the result and performance.

The positives I took were that the defence is solid.
I think Gorrks and Connors have a good understanding and I thought Walker had a great game. His pace is a real asset and that is for a defensive aspect as well as an attacking one. He really got us out of trouble when there striker was running through on goal. Derry had no chance to catch him but lucky for rangers Walker recovered the situation.
Clint hill had a decent game at the back but unlike Walker offers very little going forward.

Now the midfield. I thought Derry had a much better game than against Donny. His passing found his own team mates and he won the ball on many occasions. Hogan looked quiet again. He shows at times he has the pace to get past the full back but he isn't playing with the same confidence he was earlier in the season. Mackie again gives full commitment and I find it hard to criticize him. He missed a couple of decent chances however he is getting in the right positions and his pace is always a threat.

Tarrabt is a concern for me.

It is clear we are missing Faurlin but I think Tarrabt will have a fight for his place. I would side for Buzz to play that free role. Buzz will get you goals and albeit he had a shot off target he is comfortable shooting with both feet. Helguson worked hard but I think we need buzz's goals.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Taarabt will never be dropped in favour of Buzz, unless it's down to injury. It's a shame as I think Buzz could prove to be more effective. Not that I don't rate Taarabt at all, nor am I saying Buzz is a more gifted player, but Tarbs is definitely off the boil at the moment. It goes to show that we'd miss Faurlin more than Taarabt, regardless of the sneering coments from some. Derry needs Faurlin, Taarabt needs Faurlin and so does the whole team as we're losing the midfield battle without the lad, and that's a fact.

The back four are really carrying us in his absence. Connolly is playing above even my expectaions, and I championed him a lot recently.

I thought connors played fantastic yesterday.

He just breeds confidence at the back.
So composed it was a joy to watch.

Gorrks complements him well with being great in the air.

I do think Walkers pace is a good get outof jail card but the back 4 definately looks solid.

I agree benny that tarbs won't be dropped but thats the last 3 games I have watched him where he has been poor.

I'm not convinced Tarbs has been poor last 2 games.
Leicester yes, but perhaps our expectations are a little too high, expecting him to single handedly drive us to victory ?

Opposition teams are trying to 'do a Savage' and man mark him, making it difficult for him to be effective.
Last night, he tried to be different by pushing further forward 2 nd half and then moving wide left to make thi gs happen. It didn't quite come off.
V Donny, he scored, made a assist and played a handful of quality passes to create opportunities for HH & Mackie.

I agree about Adel. Back to mostly running into trouble and losing the ball. One decent shot but even then there was simple and better option. I agree I can't see Warnock dropping him but he should. I would like to see his "impact" use reveresed - have Buz on and bring Adel off the bench to stir things as needed.

Also agree the defence take the honours last few games. Walker was an inspired replacement for Orr. All of them played well. Including Kenny (who I have had - and still have - my doubts about).

We do still need that out and out striker. Mackie and Gorks scoring the goals can't be sustainable. When Hulse is fit there will be changes. I hope that addresses the Adel issue at the same time.

Tarbs+ makie thats over 90% of the whole team in matter of assists+goals.
okay lets drop him and lets drop makie when goes dry spell and lets break the teams momentum and lets ruin everything! thats what you want.. really some ****** fans over here, thats why QPR will never get promoted or win anything.
I watched all the games and from what I saw is that over 90% of the goals came or initiated or invented or created or assisted or scored by that TARBS, take him of and you will loose and you will be happy, even if he plays **** he still gives something or at least take 2 or 3 players with him which gives more space to makie and others to score.

I think we should have gone 442 in the 2nd half. HH needed someone up there with him.

if teams are going to man mark tarbs with a defensive midfielder;there is a case for mixing it up.play mackie through the middle, tarbs wide left, hogan right and bring buzz in to tarbs role;which still gives us plenty of goal threat

Oh dear...someone's got a sore front bum. Try wrapping up with a hot water bottle luv...My ex swears by it.

Still, as long as your opinion is so strong and correct that you can abuse those who tend to have one that doesn't suit you, I suppose it's all right, eh?

adel is the only person who unlocks the bus parked on the goal line, he will never ever be dropped imho.
but our best player is missing and it shows, without faurlin we are liverpool without gerrard.

He did ok againt Donny mate. Yesterday he was poor though as he kept trying to do it all alone. When he plays the team game, he's amazing, but when he goes on his solo stuff he becomes a bit of a thorn in our side.

All I'm saying is that it'd be good to mix it up as we have the squad. Ephraim looks out of his depth again as well, so I'd look at Smith.

anyone who who was watching last night would have noticed that their no. 17 manmarked tarbs the whole game, and it's something he and us should get used to.

Spot on Bennyboy. I totally agree. Adel is a great player but it is silly to look at him uncritically. And sadly, after a fantastic start to the season he has started to drift increasingly into old bad habits. He should be at least put under pressure for his place - my preference would be to start him from the bench and bring him on as the "impact sub" as needed. At least until he gets his early season form back. He is great at unsettling defenders and this would work well.

The team is in any case going to have to shift about a bit to keep the run up. Hogan is also drifting out of form and Hulse can't be far of full fitness. Adel in this form cannot be undroppable. That's all.

Taarabt will often be man marked, but he will still be a threat.

Just as he was against Derby last season at LR. He still managed to get away from Savage twice. Once to set up Cook and the other when Savage rugby tackled him. For me there is space for both him and Buzsaky, maybe not every game, but in some, yes. It would probably mean dropping Ephraim.

Oh and QPR are definitley missing Faurlin. He is the link between Derry and Taarabt.
