  • Just back....

As the police sirens sound as a reminder of Millwall's reputation as a clan full of 3,000 animals, their football team actually wasn't half bad tonight.

In honesty, we were out-Warnocked by Kenny Jackett today.

Man close-marking Tarrabt and Mackie at all times? Check. True, we should have had a penalty and a free kick just outside in the area in the first half for two brutal fouls on Mackie - a friend of mine (sitting in the SA seats in the middle of the field, virtually) referred to the challenge inside the box as "ABH", but really, Millwall were the better side in the midfield.

We miss Faurlin. We really do. Derry can't do all the work - particularly on a night when both Tarrabt and Buzsaky offered little in terms of tackling. Why don't we start Martin Rowlands, or think of another option. Don't get me wrong - we love the luxury that's given up a 6 point cushion, but we're constantly getting overrun in midfield and might need to sort out something better at Crystal Palace, which is going to be a 'toughie' London-Nestle Factory Derby.

In defence, everyone defended well and Millwall offered relatively little up front. Having watched Kenny save from the header late in the game, it was a save any good keeper should have made - and another save late on was brilliant.

Up front, Mackie and Helguson should feel a bit unlucky not to have put us up 2-0 at the break, but then again, we'll take 0-0 - particularly bearing in mind Palace's result in Cardiff tonight (same scoreline, by the way) and Ipswich's late 1-0 loss at Reading.

Oh, and on a sideline about police sirens. Here's the Twitter search. I don't want to go on about it.

    pretty much spot on.

i was a tad annoyed that warnock didnt make changes before the 82nd minute. we was out of steam by 70! smith and dave should have come on. leigertwood is something else.. came on and within 3 minutes made 6 passes.. two to rangers players and 4 to millwall..

our defence was solid, gorkks however was being given a hardish night in the air against morison. millwall forced us to play long ball.. where in truth we only had HH to aim for.. and he was being held everytime.. how the ref didnt give some of the shirt pulls and holding was beyond me.

They came to not be beaten and after three straight defeats who can blame them. I agree that changes should have been made before 82 mins, Hogan should have come off for Smith 20 mins into second half he didn't add much at all!

            Agree with that Rob.

When you look at the bench knowing he won't bring on Rowlands it doesn't leave you with much confidence. Smith would of been the sensible change. Legs had a nightmare when he came on.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Have always defended Legs but must admit I'm running out of patience with him. His confidence looks shot and he just panics whenever the ball comes to him. Shame as he is the best athlete at the club by a mile.
