Eyes and ears open, always aware of where the nearest bolthole is, eg: front gardens, alleyways, stairs to basement flats, as stampeding idiots tend to run past these places. Have frequented various people's front gardens getting out of the way of the Luton fans who started running at the top of the road with the aim of flattening anyone in their way.
The sound of a mob kicking off is quite unique and distinctive, and one you know if you were around in the "good" old days. Quite different from your normal rowdiness/banter/general drunken revelry.
Have only really heard it twice in vicinity of the ground in very recent years, both time when we played Chelsea. First time, we retraced our steps back towards the ground's exit, away from the noise. Second time, we went into a Chinese restaurant's doorway. If that hadn't worked, we would have just gone right inside till the fuss had died down.
Common sense more than anything, and, the important thing is, to recognise when crowd noise changes into that distinctive sound.Faurlin is my hero!!! Love him!!! #########

With common sense and a bit of hanging back, people can stay safe.
Don't leave early by the way -- you won't avoid the trouble, probably more likely to walk into it, as many of the trouble-makers leave early.
Better to hang back.Faurlin is my hero!!! Love him!!! #########

Its like listerning to a bunch of kids on here venturing into the grown ups playground for the first time.
Was there any trouble the last time we played Millwall? Or the time before that? Maybe the odd isolated incident, that's it. Cardiff will be a much more intimidating presence down the down the Bush when it's their turn.

London Pride has been handed down to us.
London Pride is a flower that's free.
London Pride means our own dear town to us,
And our pride it for ever will be.

I have my own views on Millwall as a club and in particular their supporters. From past first hand experience it doesn't make nice reading.Whether its at LR or the New Den,when it comes to QPR v Millwall, extreme care and caution should be taken.Win or lose they will be out to spoil our evening unless they have mellowed or come to heel since their last excursion into the Championship.I will elaborate further if you want me to,but it may be more prudent to keep shtum, you never know who's reading these threads.

Fair do's, they have their idiots, we have our own.
Two Queen's Park Rangers fans – including one from Watford – have been found guilty of violent disorder by a jury at Chelmsford Crown Court and…
There was mayhem on the streets of west London after Chelsea's FA Cup clash with old foes Queens Park Rangers. The hostile atmosphere was not helped by a pre-match stunt organised by a group of QPR fans intent on marking the 'death' of Chelsea as the richest club in London following the arrival of Rangers' mega-rich new investors

I just think that it would be naive to go to this game and think everything's going to be OK.
Just having an idea of what could go wrong and how to react isn't an overreaction, it's just using common sense which could, if the worse happens, keep us and our families safe.
Like Geejaybee, I've seen Millwall fans at their worst, albeit 30 years ago, but the memory doesn't go, despite our recent encounters being relatively trouble free.
And never ever pretend that Millwall have sorted their hooligan problem -- remember what happened at their cup match with West Ham earlier this year. It might take two to fight, but unfortunately we have a minority like that too.Faurlin is my hero!!! Love him!!! #########
