  • Are we just a tad lucky

Looking to be shot down in flames for a first post, but a serious question while I hide behind the sofa..

The late late comeback show at Derby (after I left on 88 mins )
The shots+shots on target statistics from the Leicester game -12
The shots+shots on target statistics from todays Donny game -7

Against these stats are the fantastic performances at Ipswich and home to Middlesboro.

We are either riding our luck a bit, or the stats don't quite tell the real story, which is it?

Anyway, hope it continues. Just can't help thinking that 6 points clear is a bit flattering thats all Be gentle.

We're not lucky at all. I thought we looked fantastically organised today. The hit woodwork from a free kick and then the top of the bar on a breakaway, but they didn't really put us under much pressure. There were times in the second half, the way the midfield and defence line up looked incredible, just no way through.
Similar last week. Leicester had a lot of the ball but very few chances.

They put us under more pressure than we put on them, we scored 3 with 3 chances, credit to Rangers for that.

We have had the rub of the green this season but makes up for all the seasons when its gone the other way.

Someone ( I think it was a golfer ) once said, "The harder I work, the luckier I get" and that in a nutshell is us. We as a team work as hard as I've ever seen us work, and the clean sheets speak for themselves.

That today reminded me of what happens at the "big" clubs week in week out. Other teams go to Old Trafford or Stamford Bridge or Anfield (except this year ! ) and they huff and puff and play really well but at the end of the day come away with nothing and usually end up getting spanked.

Well for once, we are the "big" club and try as they might teams just can't break us down plus when was the last season we won this many penalties ?

Yes we have ridden our luck, but we've earnt it and it's not often we have been able to say that.
Fags n weed, glue n speed, but I draws the line at crack !

To be honest we were very lucky at times today. Yes we were organised but Doncaster done a great job of containing our flair players, Ephraim, Taarabt & Buzz. It could have been 2 or 3 nil to Donny at half time if we were honest.

I was praying for half time to come so the gaffer could get to work on the lads & it seems he did just that. It was never a 3-0 game but who cares? We deserve a bit of luck we haven't had any for years so long may it continue.

Not playing very well & still winning 3-0 against a very capable footballing side says a lot about us as a team. Delighted.
