15 years in the wilderness will be a distant memory come Sunday 8th May 2011.

he deleted his twitter account. to be honest smartest thing he has done. really surprised as he was a fan's favourite even when playing crap.. but shows you how some footballers really look at the game.
viney had a chance to get fit and play games by going on loan or even now leaving.. but he is only concerned about 1 thing. the money he will lose by transferring to another club.
tells you all you need to know about the man. shame reallySoldier: "im on reconnaissance sir.. im looking for our camouflage expert.. have you seen him?"
Lovejoy: "No?!"
Soldier: "GOD DAMNIT THAT GUYS GOOD!"

In a way this makes you respect players like Bellamy more. Like him or loathe him, he wants to play football and he acted to do that (regardless of the rightsd and wrongs of Cardiff signing him). Same for Beckham, who blatantly just loves playing, and does all he can to do so.
There are many young kids there, and I am sure many of us, who would love to have played professional football, for QPR or Rochdale or whoever. Because we love playing football. When it becomes purely about money, especially when you aren't short of a bob or two already, it is a real shame.
I hope Vine realises he needs to go and get games, and starts to enjoy playing again. It is awful what happened to him, but he has to now take it upon himself to get out there and prove doubters wrong, and also enjoy playing while he still can.

i understand the argument...but look at in these terms...
Your current company are offering you £10,000 a week plus benefits.
They are trying to get rid of you.
Another company is willing to take you on but only offering £1,000 a week.
anyone can live off £1,000 a week, but if you could get more, wouldnt you?

I understand Vine's point of view completely.
It's not his fault that Paladini sanctioned a ridiculous contract. I don't see why he should forgo what he is rightfully and legally due. If the Club want him off the wage bill, pay him the value of his contract and come to an agreement about win bonuses etc that would have been accrued during the duration.
The Club f**ked up here, NOT Vine.
BTW - the way Vine has gone about it via Twitter etc., is poor. He should have kept his head down and maintained a dignified silence.

I understand the arguement as im sure does everyone else on this board but refer to stedders post above. Im afraid the Vine situation is a sad indictment of modern day football.Win or lose, on the booze

QPRJim, I totally agree. I am not saying that Vine's situation isn't understandable, but it tends to show a lack of love for the game, which is surely why he went into it originally? Also, in the longer term, if he feels he has something to offer, he should go show that, and then his stock will be higher again.
Anyway, he was appalling for us when he played last season, and his Twitter rant was stupid.

Can I Make A point?
How long is Mackie's contract and god forbid he broke his leg after say scoring 20 goals this season, would we say the contract was too long?
Point being you can never envisage what happens in a year or 2 years timeALL BEST BANTER AND ALL THE LATEST FROM QPR.
