to 1979 and into the 80's, 18k at home standing vs the likes of Fulham, Promotion to Div 1, 1982 Cup Final, European nights at Highbury, Milk Cup final all in the space of 6 or 7 years do you think the euphoria surrounding this season matches that?

Think the buzz is different mate guess like me you was in your late teens early twenties for those games and i remember going back to the Burlington club in Hammersmith after those Highbury games for a light ale or two but really enjoying the games now and its superb that my two sons have a great team to follow like we did back in the day mate.

I was 16 when we won the semi at Highbury and remember going to the pub afterwards, cant remember which one, but I do remember it was the first time I got pissed. Went back to me mates place watched the highlights on TV and puked all over their living room carpet! Happy days!!
Yeah things are different today, the atmosphere expecially. With standing gone and the Lower Loft now the family stand LR is not the same. My two boys love the R's this season, they have been going since they were both 6 or so but my eldest, whose been to over 40 games only saw QPR win for the first time when we beat Barnsley this season! He's been to all but 2 games since and cant get enough of it. About time!!22nd February away v Charlton is the 40th Anniversary of my support of QPR and my first game. Nothing can match the good old 80's. There seemed to be a unity among the fans, it's all about money these days. Sky TV and CCTV killed all the fun of the game.
But I must admit this season has been unreal, waiting a long time for this. Warnock in my eyes is up there with Gerry, Terry, Dave Sexton and Hollo.

Ahhh The Semi - Turning Highbury into a public lavatory
We all went down to Trafalgar Sq afterwards, I remember my m8 getting head butted by a WBA fan & laughing at him as it was the happiest day of our young life's.
Also Final day; walking down from Stonebridge to Harlesden, going into The Elm tree at 8am, getting tanked up, then walking on down to LR to meet the march; then marching on Wembley.
Waking up early & hung over on the Sunday morn, then runnning back down to LR to join the queue for replay tickets.
Seems like a lifetime ago :leaking:
Also last away game of promotion season up in Grimsby, I think we lost 2-1, but we had an awesome time in the crazy gold course after the game :D (I believed it rained as well, & when we were finally given a train to get out of Scunthorpe, it was bricked by angry Grimsby fans)
Oh happy daze!Minds Are Like Parachutes.
