  • Faurlin - out for 2 months????

Lots of rumours flying about yesterday that he is out for 2 months. I would be gutted if this is true.

An important part of our team.

    Anyone heard anything???
First game: Arsenal vs Queen's Park Rangers at Highbury, Saturday 17th November 1984.

Thought his absence was noticable yesterday. In my opinion he is a superior player to Buz and breaks up play and keeps the ball moving better.

we will have loads more back to the wall smash and grabs like yesterday rather than the 3 or 4 nil walkovers without him imho.

He's a completely different player to Buzz, so no real comparisson there mate. One is an attacking midfielder, and the other more deffensive. If Taarabt was injured, Buzz would fill that role easilly, whereas Faurlin wouldn't be half as effective.
          Your mum would love me...

Hopefully not as it was clear he is in a different league to Buzz.

Not 'superior', but 'different'. Both have their strengths and weaknesses. Buzz was playing in a deeper lying role, not his best position so an unfair comparison.

I don't go along with that at all.

Benny has it spot on, Buzz is a very good player and he would play the tarrabt role. He is creative and is the best ball striker in the squad. He will get goals being played further up the pitch and apart from Mackie he would be our next best goal scoring threat. If Tarrabt plays like he did yesterday then Buzz will be pushing for a place in his best position. Faurlin is class but they offer totally didn't things to the side.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

dropping the captain, most skillfull player that he plays the whole side in a way to accomadate is a brave move from the manager.
thats a proper psyhcic vision that you can see that happening
you really reckon that will happen?

Fair points made by all. I like Buz but in my humble opinion he is not as good as he is made out to be. We knock Legs for his distribution however I would hazard a guess Buz's completion rate is not an awful lot better.

Your right for tricks on the ball etc Buz is up there but I think Faurlin also has this in his locker and would argue he is a more complete cen midfielder as from what I have seen, he has bags of skill, can pass the ball, break up the play and is not scared of getting stuck in where it hurts.
