Last season I'm pretty sure Newcastle were "out statted" in loads of games. I think they also "scraped" a lot of narrow wins. However, ultimately they shat all over the division and went up as clear champs.

They had a lot of possesion at times, but lacked any real threat in the final 3rd. 11 on target for Leicester and I can't remember Kenny making more than one or 2 saves. We were the away side and coped well with everything Leicester threw at us in the main.

Goals what win games not stats. Good teams that win and finish top of there leagues are one that pick up points when the other teams play better.

No way did we have 48 percent possession. We never touched the ball. Leicester dominated possession but rarely worked Paddy

Lots of possession and huff and puff by Leicester, but yesterday was about quality, not quantity.
48% sounds about right to me, and the fact is, our defence was better than theirs, and our attack was better than theirs. And our midfield forced them into lumping the ball upfield.
NW's tactics for playing them were spot-on. Sousa's tactics were poor.
No favouritism by the ref, either -- he was poor for BOTH teams.

they had us under a hell of alot of pressure. but never really did much.

i expected them to be defensive, but obviously our early goal meant sousa had to make them attack.

                      sweet win over sousa though!

Totally agree, how many times have you seen Man U score games to win in the final few minutes and we have the men to do the same. Also things we have are a creative midfield, a solid defense and a very safe goalkeeper, all major factors which make a great team.

The 5 live reporter said Kenny hardly touched the ball, such was the protection in front of him
