  • Adel's Strop & The Penalty..

I don't want to bring the tone down on a wonderful night but can anyone who went to the game elaborate on Taarabt's apparent strop? According to BBC London he was quote 'not happy' 'sulked' & 'threw his toys out'. Surely he needs to appreciate he is very much a luxury when we are 2-0 up & controlling a game & Warnock is simply protecting him. Hopefully its all a nothing.

Also I'd like to say well done to H Helguson who scored our penalty. I noticed on the Sky Sports highlights Mackie went straight over wanting to take the pen to get his hat trick to which Helguson gave him the brush off. It has become apparent Helguson & Taarabt are the allocated penalty takers & although Mackie wanted his hat trick it is not a personal competition it is a team game so if Helguson Is the penalty taker he should take them no matter what. Mackie was the first to congratulate HH after scoring so well done that man.

Hopefully Warno will explain to Tabs that he is our single most important player and that at this early stage of the season best to keep him in cotton wool as much as possible. One of the real positives which will start to play dividends later in the season is that so far almost every match it has been game over after 70 minutes and we have been able to rest our best players.

Exactly. Warnock is perfect for AT I just hopes he appreciates what Warnock can do for him as a player.

I'm sure it was all a nothing. The commentators on BBC London said along with Mackie, Taarabt was the best player on the pitch so he obviously just wanted to carry on.

I asked because commentators sometimes make things sound really bad. I'd just like the view of someone who was there.

He's still getting back to full strength after Ramadan. Good to see him care.

Tabs did say somewhere in the week that he was building up his fitness and wanted to last the 90 mins (or words to that effect). Maybe Warno should let him play for longer one match. Then again, being a strong, successful manager is getting what you want out of particular players at the crucial times. If Warnock can keep this squad happy, with some big-ish names on the bench, then all the more credit to him.

Basically Adel knew Ipswich were there to be destroyed and he wanted to score. He had just had a diving header saved by Fulop (yes you heard me right a diving header, lol) & knew he would score. When subbed he didn't shake hands with Legs then kicked a Lucozade bottle a few yards before slumping down in his seat. No big deal.

Sounds like a wee bit of petulance. To be expected at times with Adel. Not shaking your team mate & replacements hand is a bit off though.

No disaster the gaffer will bring him down to earth with an arm round his shoulder.

Having actually been at the game, I didn't see Taarabt looked pissed off with coming off - although someone remarked that he definitely did so.
I think Warnock's decision to put kid gloves around our most prized asset is definitely a good decision, especially as we'll playing some thuggish midfields as this Championship campaign goes on.
If Taarabt doesn't like it, then he's got a funny way of showing how much he's hating being hero-worshipped by the Rangers faithful.

Warnock seems to take him off once he is confident we have 'won' the game, which makes perfect sense. Why risk him picking up an unnecessary injury. He is clearly our most influential player.

I have to say I didn't notice Adel getting a strop on but who knows. All I can say is that he was our worst player last night and he didn't do that bad. A fantastic strong TEAM performance.

When substituted Adel was clearly disappointed which is understandable as the lad just seems to love playing he went to the bench had a hug from Warnock and that was it no big deal, and as said previously good to see he cares so much.
