A few thoughts from Conners

Helguson.

I defended this guy a number of weeks ago, saying that his averages showed that he would chip in with in excess 15 goals this season.

Special praise to Neil Warnock for noting Helguson's potential. We have not had someone with his aerial ability at our club for a long time. He doesn't just win the ball. He has an awareness of where his players are and seems to be able to cushion the ball very well with his head.

He is now showing the form he had at Watford. If he continues, he will be very valuable to us.

Also, Shaun Derry. Another one the boo boys were already on the case of before he had even kicked a ball.

Make no mistake, Boro are no mug of a team. I would say they are the best team we have played this season. They are very strong and were really trying to boss the middle of the park in the first half yesterday. Derry, however. was having none of it and he really showed his quality.
