  • Shaun Derry and our new organised defensive unit.

What a hard tackling aggressive ******* Shaun Derry is....thank **** he plays for us. After 2 seasons of watching Legiertwood immitate a footballer we finally have a proper hard nut holding midfielder. Today was the first live match I've been able to get to this season and I can't help but applaude this signing.

The organisation at the back has improved tenfold, Hall must not be allowed to displace Connolly in the team and Gorkks just looked immense having had Boyd in his pocket all game.

Our attacking play will take the plaudits once again today but this team is being built on solid defensive foundations. The communication and defensive covering look as good as anything Sousa could conjur up. With Kenny pushing the defence up when necessary, Derry dropping into the hole constantly to cover when a CB commits, this is the sort of play what good teams are built on.

To me it seems Warnock has us working as a unit from the back, 4 clean sheets this season deserves IMO as much respect as our superb goal difference, after all 4/6 of our defensive players are new signings.

    Well done the lads

Why just because you don't like flair players doesn't mean I don't appreciate an organised defensive unit, have you never seen my postings on Sousa.

Not me didn't know a lot about him TBH, questioned Hills signing cause his natural position is CB.

It is rather strange. All pre season we were hanging on the signing of Ambrose and hating the signings of Hill and Derry....well not hating them, but questioning them.Ambrose is without doubt a good player, but i think and it is early days, id rather have Derry And Hill and glad Ambrose has stayed with palace.....It also helps having the likes of Adel and what a good signing mackie has been.

every single one of neils signings that are in the first team have started above and beyond all any of us could of ever believed or even wished for.
and all the players we already had have upped there preformances by a ridiculous amount.
dont shoot me down, but this seriously is the best time to be a qpr fan since 75 imho. its just so exciting cos we all know the prize at the end of it, and the performances are just jawdropping.
i absolutley love every single player in hoops out there, and its been decades since i have said that.

                    The Guard Dog

Shaun Derry. Had a blinder of a game. Done exactly what it said on the tin.

Mackie, Faurlin & Hogan not far behind them.

Gorkks & Connelly had a right battle with those pie eaters up front.

So much more from the team to come. Still top in September? Pass the Valium!!!:drunk:

Not quite sure how we pick a man of the match from that lot today but i have to say Derry was outstanding breaking up anything Boro had to offer.

Few misplaced passes in the first half but he and Faurlin grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck in the second.

Think Nelly gave the boys the hairdryer treatment at HT.

Also agree W12 but i dont think we can compare what we are seeing this season under Warnock which is streets ahead of Sousa.
