Paul I totally understand what your saying & its a very viable option for the club. At the end of the day its a numbers game. I feel the heart of QPR is in W12 & a move out to Hillingdon / Uxbridge is just that bit to far.
Also weareqpr12 I think a stadium with approx 25-30k is perfect for us. We are around 18k capacity now which has probably been filled what twice in 4-5 years? I'd rather a packed 25,000 than a half empty Middlesbrough type scenario.

I really like Southampton's and Derby's grounds and either of those plotted on the old ski slope in Uxbridge would be perfect.

What are the capacity's?
Personally I like Reading's set up. Not totally sold on the ground itself but the infrastructure around the stadium ie; parking, hotel, training facilities on site is top notch.
Think Reading is the benchmark. Holds 25,000 with expansion plans in place to 34,000. Excellent facilities in the stadium - excellent infrastructure outside it. Aside from the nightmare getting away from the car parks (for both football and rugby), it just WORKS.

I agree. Said a while ago that Reading stadium is exactly what we want if we move. Right size and great facility all round. Has to be near LR though.
All this "souless bowl" rubbish is utter claptrap. Highbury was the most quiet stadium on earth and that was old fashioned style and always full. The fans make the noise, not the shape of the stands.

There is nothing surrounding LR that will increase the size of the crowd, thats the problem and IMO why it has to move. If moved into an area where thousands upon thousands of parents with children who like football but dont go to watch footie, it could be a winner for the club which is all they care about at the end of the day.

The catchment is fine - the dilapidated, cramped and over-priced stadium doesn't help. The clubs that have built nice new facilities near their old stadiums have seen massive increase in demand for tickets - at least in the short medium term. I don;t mind a biyt of a move, but we have to stay near the heart of the club and support IMHO. (I know we haven't always been there)
The catchment area is useless and seems to be getting worse every year and add to that Fulham offering better deals to watch better football.
When people talk about club attendances and people mention teams like Derby, Norwich and Southampton, people say they dont count because they have no competition from other clubs nearby. If QPR FC moved to Hillingdon and built along the lines of Reading ?, they would be in the same category.
the madjedski is amazing. love going there. i always stay at the hotel on the friday and saturday night and watch all the r's turning up out the windows cos they are full glass. then go down to the bar and just walk in to the match. same after the game, straight back to the bar then dinner in the restaraunt.
you can get the hotel well cheap if you book early. great weekend that.
I agree with all those that say Reading's Madjeski stadium is the ideal model. I regularly go to watch London Irish there and the matchday experience (especially when you have young kids) is so much better. You don't even have to stand up to let people down your aisle - there is so much legroom !!
Also, if I remember correctly, they have permission to expand the stadium with second tiers as and when they become necesary. Probably not for a while with Reading FC in freefall at the moment ?!
i take one of my missus's and kids. i leave them swimming when i go to the match, go shopping in the oracle on the sunday on the way home. blinding place.
no loneliness here mate.
