Basically to cut a long story short during his tenure as Sporting Director GP rather than scout players alledgly would pick up the phone to his friends at Base Soccer and see what is available.
Study the list of players you'll see a number of QPR squad players and even supposed transfer targets on the list.
So here we are trying to fathom what has gone wrong with Hulse and Smiths transfers and who was responsible for sorting all the necessary paperwork on time and low and behold Base Soccers name crops up.
I'm not going to speculate anymore, I'll let others do that,
its just plain and simple business.
most businesses only deal with a certain known and trusted clientelle.
maybe thats why we didnt get any of our other targets cos they were not with base.
not being argumentative here, but would any of you come to rangers if you had other options?
cos youve all said numerous times how much of a shambles we are,a nd how used to the shite we are, and how badly run this little club is.
maybe base is our only chance of getting good players, cos no other fool would take the risk.
I'd be more than inclined to put this one down to a coincidence. I'm not having for a minute that NW is being told who he can and can't have.
A coincidence that both registrations were not completed on time, coincidence that we were dealing with Base Soccer as well.....2 many ****ing coincidences for my liking Benny
Also, I don't see NW'snumber 1 target in Jon Walters on there. No Dave Kitson, nor Jason Roberts who he seems to have shown interest in. No Darren Ambrose who he was really trying to get either.
Jobi McAnuff is on there, but he's possibly the best in the league in his position (IMO, anyway), so no surprise if we've looked at him. Lot's of posters want/ed Jay Bothroyd as well, and if he signed, we'd have the same conversation.
At the end of the day, Base Soccer are a fairly large organisation (Nodge may tell me different?) so they are bound to have good players on their books. There are plenty on there that I'd take, and it wouldn't bother me for a second as they'd improve the team.
