If he was 32 or 33 I'd be concerned, but at his age I would still back him to make a return.

Plenty of players have been forced to give up the game a lot younger than 28 due to injury..

Ben Collett would be a Man Utd and England regular now (words of Alex Ferguson) but had to give up at 23 through injury...

Matt Murray has just retired at 29 through injury..

Sadly injuries occur at any time and any age.

*edit* Sam Hutchison just been forced to retire at just 19 because of a knee injury similar to Cooks, was very very very highly rated at Stamford Bridge...

Granted, he's been out a long time, but does anyone actually know the state of his condition and fitness now?

Had to have a clean up operation on his knee after making a massive 16 appearances since his last injury layoff....

That was 6 weeks ago, I believe the question asked was what is his condition and fitness NOW?

Just saw this earlier in the thread:

Rowlands is very hopeful of making the squad for Middlesboro. He played 60 mins in Resses this week and no ill affects.

Cooky is looking at 5 weeks to be in the same place, 2 before stepping up traing to whetr Rowly is now.

But injury updates both from the horses mouths. Honestly.
