Neil himself said on Talksport a couple of weeks ago that he did not want to leave anything til the last minute.

He also tried to sign 2 strikers weeks/days ago.

Surely if we get 1 or more top quality forwards in it will be with some degree of fortune as it was not Neils original plan. Fingers crossed as it should be very interesting come monday, I just hope we arent pipped to the post for Roberts and all our eggs arent in 1 basket.

Roberts is not a target man. When you see him play you will see he is not that kind of striker.

We need a big and tall striker who will lead the line. Like Andy Carroll at Newcastle.

We need someone like Kevin Phillips who's job it would be to finish some of the hat full of chances we create. He is neither big or tall.

I've seen him play many times as probably most have on here and he bulldozes his way through defenders.

Would you not be happy if we signed him?

If we can't or are not willing to pay the so called high wages of say Kitson and Roberts, what makes us think we will pay the wages of surplus to requirements strikers after the 25 man premiership squads are announced ?

The fact we are playing well and at the moment HH is going OK,it has taken the pressure off Warnock getting the strikers in asap. Yes we probably missed out on 1 or 2 first choice players but if my memory serves me right, most championship teams didn't complete their squads until the last day of the transfer window last season.Simpson joined us very late (I know he was only a loan). A win or draw tomorrow at pride Park and we can honestly say Warnock has got things right. This time next week we'll be praising him on two new centre forwards, just you watch!
22nd February away v Charlton is the 40th Anniversary of my support of QPR and my first game. Away v Chelsea 3-3 23rd Feb 1974. 40 years of pure magic!!

Peter Lovenkrands signed for Newcastle on September 1st last year and went on to score 13 in 29 for them.

Pete are you actually saying it's good news we havn't signed a striker!!!???

Strewth we need AT LEAST two and it's starting to look like a frigging disaster that we havn't signed TWO quality strikers by now!!!!!

It can't be Neil it must be the board who are stopping our ambitions. I think they are scared of success!!!!!

We wouldn't have to though, would we?

Surely if it's a choice between training with the reserves and potentially being forgotten about forever more, or being a little more realistic on the salary front, the sensible option would be the latter.

Possibly not, as footballers are not generally known for their intelligence, however it would be great to see the careers of some extremely average players ended for good by their own greed and opinions of their worth.

Not sure that praising the club for failing to sign a decent striker in 5 years is the correct thing to do.

If my some miracle we manage to sign someone decent (not many decent achievable forwards left) then the club can be praised, but risking the possibility of another mid table season with saving £500,000 when we have the 2nd richest owners in the game is not worthy of praise IMO.

IMO we need 4 players, we need a young LB as cover for Hill on loan, we need a player who can play right side of the front three as Josh Parker is nowhere near ready as we saw against Port Vale, we need two strikers. As we are playing one up front, Kitson and Roberts is out of the question. They don't want to be squad players in the Premier League and will want to come here to start. Therefore, Roberts and Best would be good enough for me.
15 years in the wilderness will be a distant memory come Sunday 8th May 2011.

Spot on. Can't believe Pete is suggesting that not signing a (two) quality strikers is good news. We are behind our main rivals who, let's face it already had some quality in (unlike us). So no worries we have still got Dave and Vine (oh and Clarke!) when HH gets injured!!!!!!
