Never in a million years. I think people forget what a useful player Holloway was.

Rs fans are very split on holloway as a manager and as a player!

There is a feeling amongst a lot of very loyal fans that as a player he was dog5hite, and as a manager clueless, and should have taken us 2 years before.

He certainly isn't worshipped by everyone by a long way.

I've always been very balanced as a player I think barker was far better but think fell out with Gerry as a manager, thought he did ok!!

Also a feeling amongst very loyal fans that he was a decent player who sacrificed his personal game to allow Wilkins to stroll around.

Who from today would be fit to grace that great team! We are are acknowledging that team is better, w12 many would say thay your comment of holloway being picked ahead of faurlin is laughable! Many would say you are off your rocker!!

              Which we all know anyway!
When Faurlin has played close to 200 games in top div then you might be able to compare
Football played the Charlie Ferris way

Yeah like I said split decisions! On him as many don't rate him as do!

It's all about opinions but saying ollie would be picked ahead of ally is a bit crazy!

                But that's my opinion!

Makes you realise how far we have fallen.....Wilkins, Ferdinand, Wilson, Bardsley and MAcca.....quality. About 7 internationals in there...

Tarrabt only one that would get in. Probably for Impey.

Stejskal was a much better keeper than Kenny. Even Kenny at his peak wouldn't get close.

                        Agree with that 100%.

Holloway was Wilkins legs, I actually preferred Holloway to Barker and I rated Barker too.

If the Ian Holloway of that side between 92-95 was playing for us now, he'd be the best centre midfielder in the Championship bar none.

Some people try to say Legiertwood is this superfit individual but 90mins against Oliie and he would have been blowing out of his ####.

W12 he was average! League one before we signed him!
That's a bold crazy crazy statement! He got booed half the time, I remember one night game over at selhurst when our fans were calling for him to be sent off! I that doesn't say too much as I hate it when our fans boo our own players!

To say he would be best in championship is laughable

He was part of team which finished 5th and 8th in the PL, he wasn't there just making up the numbers, he was an important part of the team.

I said the Ian Holloway of 92-95 would be the best centre midfielder in the Championship now.

I don't care how good you think Faurlin is, I'll take the Ian Holloway from those seasons any day of the week. I don't think ability wise Holloway was outstanding by a long way but for the type of player he was theoritically he was one of the best around for a few seasons at the highest level in the game in this country. The role of the centre midfielder IMO is the most difficult position on the pitch to play. Without Holloway (or Barker) on the pitch Sir Les wouldn't have got no where near his goal tallys because these sort of players gave Wilkins the time to pick of passes left right and centre.

People think they can compare players where the gulf in the standard of football is immense between now and then I just wouldn't even bother.

IMO Ian Holloway was the biggest unsung hero of the Gerry Francis side of the early 90's

That squad was seasoned top level pro's stuffed with internationals. This lot wouldn't get close.

Additionally this side isn't as good as the relegated side that for the 1st two seasons down in the second tier added Spencer and Peacock ot the squad, aside from perhaps replacing Roberts/Sommer with Kenny.

Laughable when you think about it.
