  • 35 Years On from That Great 1975-76 Squad

Any clues on where they are now?

I've been lucky to interview Gerry Francis and Stan Bowles for this site and did approach the club last February about doing something about re-uniting this great team for one day only, which does not seem to have progressed.

Its great to have the 1967 team assembled, but it was a great acheivement to be runners up to Liverpool in 1975-76 season and what followed in Europe must have been great for so many fans

How do we get this moving?

I know Don Masson runs a Hotel in Nottingham? Does anyone else know the whereabouts of the players as I believe this time around might the last opportunity we get them all together. If Bob Geldof got Band Aid together I am sure we can re-unite that great team for one night only, have them presented to the crowd early next year and the club should organise some kind of dinner with the players and invite the fans.

If anyone wants to help me in this venture, then let me know and we can all work together in making this happen.

First off, where are they all? We then can move to the next step.

Pete. If you can't get them back together just get some grey haired old boys out of O'Donoghue's to pitch up.

Let's be honest, we aren't gonna recognise many of them now anyway so who's to know?

Good luck Pete in this effort, I would love to help but wtf do I know about getting in touch with these hero's? The club would surely help in this area Pete!!!!

It would be great to see them on the LR pitch again as it was to see the 67 cup team the other year.

For the life of me, I can't think of any way that I can help Pete,

But it's a BRILLIANT idea, not only at a game, but also for a dinner night.

But if I can help in any way, PM me please.

I'm just waiting to see if this is going to happen as I have been told since I stickied this thread, that something might be happening in September?

Will definitely come back to you if this venture is not getting off the ground

Pete, I think the QPR book Heroes in Hoops said what some of the players are up to nowadays, from memory?

Pete, although I agree with this all and would love to see it, do you think commemorating finishing as Runners -up would rate very high on some of the players careers. Some of them moved on, ok not always to bigger and better things but it makes you wonder.
Ok commemorating the 67 win but would some people not find it sad (not me before you ask by the way).

Ian Gillard - Semi-retired, living in Surrey. Runs a cleaning firm. Does some coaching at the Reading School of excellence. Still goes to games occasionally with his son or wife.

David Webb - Runs a property business. Lives on the south coast. Despite devoting all his time to a burgeoning business empire, he continues to keep an eye on events at Loftus Road. "Opportunities came along for me in recent times away from football. I bought up a load of petrol stations and I put my mind into the property side of things. So that is what I have been involved with for the last five years. I still follow QPR's fortunes and I was sad that the Club hit the buffers after leaving the Premiership. They just need some sort of stability at the R's now. So I am delighted that Flavio Briatore and Bernie Ecclestone have taken control and it would be very nice if they can bring the good times back to Rangers."

Frank McLintock - Sky Sports pundit
