  • Why do we find it so hard to sign anyone?

Other clubs seem to be linked with someone and the deal signed within days.

We cannot sort anything out, I wonder if the people responsible, thinking Paladini and his team, are just useless and closing a deal.

I know that the done deal threads are often bs but many are realistic on here yet nothing ever gets confirmed.

Warnock has been searching for a striker since May, surely the richest club in the Championship, with top manager should be attractive for players at our level, especially as we have started so well.

Just to clarify we have missed out on Ched Evans, Gary Hooper, Walters, Chopra, Roberts, Kitson, Tommy Smith, Ambrose, Speroni, Clyne, and many many others.

Please can someone tell me why????

I think Neil spends to much time on radio 5 live lol
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Hasn't stopped Stead and Pitman joining Bristol City.....

Both better than what we have here.

I and many others have been harping on about getting a striker for the last 4 years!!

True, Brizzle are the mickey mouse club at the moment. I guess its all about personalities amongst other reasons. NW does have a bit of a reputation like marmite so that would make some warey. Me I love marmite

I think it all comes down to money, we don't seem to offer the right amount to force a club to sell their better players.

IMO all of the players mentioned have Premier league or Champions league aspirations. Hooper mentioned the latter when he signed for Celtic. Walters cited Premier league footy when signing for Stoke. The others are either Premier League players already and would preferably want to stay there (whether they do or not is a different matter) or players already in our division who if they are to move clubs would probably feel they are worthy of a shot at the "big time".
I think we have done very well to attract a few players of high calibre (Buzsaky, Taarabt, Kenny, etc) and hopefully with Neil in charge we can convince a few more to join, but I don't think we are as attractive a proposition as some people think. If this fantastic start continues that may change too, and come January we might be able to get in some real gems. I believe we will add one or two more before this window closes, loan or permanent too.

Maybe stating the obvious, but this is my take on the whole situation.

so rangeroar do you believe that we offered Stoke 3 million or do you think that was infact fiction?

Kingy hold on mate you are twisting the facts to suit your argument!

Chopra, Ambrose, Clyne and Speroni have not moved to anyone so to say we have "missed out" is a bit of an exaggeration. Kitson and Roberts are not concluded and I am confident that we will get at least one or both. Ched Evans, Walters and Hooper have all gone to Premiership clubs (or Celtic) who, tbh, we are never going to compete with. So a bit of a reality check needed Mr K.

Most transfers are messy and it's only because we focus on QPRs targets that we think that we are the only ones ho have problems. This is simply not the case! have a look at some other clubs MBs and you will se exactly the same moans and dissatisfaction with their signings (or lack of them)

I think we have the stingiest richest owners who want to try and sneak up to the Prem rather than making it happen. Ok improvement has happened but it has cost them a lot of time and they have wasted loads (compensation payments to managers must be in millions alone.) Can't help thinking had they gone out and bought Chopra and an 3 other class players we'd be sat in the Premiership with millions in the bank!!

Kingy to be fair I think you need to judge the board from the time of when Flav moved down the pecking order and the mittals took a larger stake.

However I do feel your concerns and I think we need to spend money to sign a quality striker. IF and it is a big IF we was going to spend 3 million plus on walters then surely we should be looking at bringing in quality upfront.

If we fail to bring in a striker then the board, club etc have let us fans down because it is clear to see that we haven't had a decent striker since the furlong days and that is embarrassing

Patience dear Kingy-boy. Slow progress is still progress.

We are two points clear at the top of the league, with +9 goal difference after 3 games.

If that is sneaking into the premier league then Im loving it.

I cant help thinking that we could've ended up like Luton had it not been for Gianni and Flavio.
