Football is no longer an every week expense alot of people can afford ! The ticket price is just part of it !

If you do football like me where you want to have a pie and pint they the price of a match can move up to £60 easy. Everything about football is about getting money out of your pocket !

I use to be a season ticket holder and I have simply been priced out ! I can not afford that sort of expense !

Also, I have a little boy who I want to spend time with over my weekends and he is too young to attend at the moment. However if he was old enough the day out grows in price !

Basically... you have to start thinking of the bigger picture ! QPR is now priced them same as a day at Lego Land or Alton Towers !! Now I know I would perfer to be at Loftus road but I am a family person and need to think if I spend that money where is it better spent for the family !!

Footballers wages have gone up !! Clubs pass that on to TV and Fans on the gate !! Sadly most fans wages have not gone up by the same percentages.

Most Rangers fans think we're bigger than we are. We averaged around 11-12k in the Premier League and only when we're doing well (last two seasons in the third tier) do we get towards filling out every home game.

Personally, I have a 4 year old and my wife has stopped earning whilst she stays at home looking after him and I am genuinely sick of the last two - three years of poor Flabio management, the manager-a-go-round, the false promises, false dawns and spin, spin, spin coming out of Loftus Road. I just can't be bothered with going at the moment even if we are doing well.

...and no, I don't need other posters preaching at me that I am not a 'proper supporter' because I'm not going much at the moment; I've done my time (and money) with Rangers over the years...

I have no doubt the bug will come back at some point, just not yet...

I have read many fans reasons for not coming to LR at the moment, some are in my opinion valid and some are just excuses, however the point is that even a national newspaper has noted that our crowds should be better. The truth is that they SHOULD be better but I have to accept that the jibes of the Palace boys who came on here were true, our support is poor. We have a hardcore of about 8k and then we have about 4k who are prepared to turn up on the day to waqtch a team on maximum points and playing ourstanding football. Baffles me, I must admit.

Our avearge gate over the last 30 years has beens between 13K and 14K so 12K vs Scunny insn't too bad considering the recession, prices etc. This weekend me and one of my lads did it on the cheap - drove up, free street parking, lunch and 1 beer, tickets - still spent £80. To have that spare I need to earn over £500 so can't afford to go every week. Personally I still think £25 for an adult seat is good value for London. We should charge less for kids, Derby next weekend ( I am going by the way!) is costing my 16 yr old just £9.50 at home its £15.00. Like people said previously if you have a family you have to pick and chhose.
22nd February away v Charlton is the 40th Anniversary of my support of QPR and my first game. Away v Chelsea 3-3 23rd Feb 1974. 40 years of pure magic!!

What a difference a player makes:

Cardiff's average attendance was 20,717 last season on Saturday they got 24,027 through the gate on the back of Bellamy.

Yeah but Bellamy's from Cardiff and a major coup for any club outside the premiership. Name a player from West London who could come to/return to QPR and have that effect?

I'm not saying there is one. Just that for all the argument about recession it seems to go out the window if you somehow manage to sign a player of that calibre.

We were a circus for a few years, and many fans were left feeling like they'd been treated like mugs by Briatore.

That takes time to put right, but if we carry on acting like a proper football club, then hopefully the faith in the club can be restored and those fans will drift back. Warnock is putting things right, slowly.
I nearly jacked it in myself, because of one man - Briatore. He was a stain on QPR. (just my opinion)

                      Winning helps too.

People will always blame ticket prices for not attending but thats only half, or less, of the cost of a day at the footy. When things are ok I go to games every week home and away, when they are not I dont always go. But lets face it, if we actually want to go, we find the money one way or another!

Sir Pie a top player coming in would put bums on seats, but we're not that attractive right now, and on the Ipswich thing, yes they are a bigger club than us, so more attractive at the moment I guess. If in January we're still up there I bet we'll be able to pick and choose who comes here

Not sure that is fair... I would love to say I could find the money but I have priorities I must consider !!

However, I would say that last season when Flavio was mucking around with the managers I would not of looked hard for the money.

I have spent loads on support QPR in the past, and I am sure this season QPR will get more money from me ! Not because we are doing well...but because I am a fan of QPR and has been all my life.

Fozzieboy - we all have committments, all I am saying is when we 'really' want to go we can normally muster the money. I agree with you - last couple of seasons I haven't looked that hard for the cash and may have done other things rather than prioritse QPR. When FB etc don't give a f**k about the £20 guy it makes you question whether to go or not. The problem is that people blame the ticket cost or ST cost and all I'm saying is it goes deeper than that.

12,000 - 2004/2005 - Was capped at this number. Remember someone (BP, maybe Mark Devlin) saying we could have sold thousands more but for a cap placed on the sales by the council to allow matchday sales as part of the licence....
